96 ranger. check engine light on. od off light blinking a few times. 4cyl. auto. turn eng off it goes away.

if your obd2 scanner fits the connection you have obd2, obd1 connector is way differnt.

the ck eng light is displayed because ther is an issue with a computer controlled component such as eng sensors or egr system.it will have to be scanned to see what part is failing then repaird as needed.it will also have to have the codes that are stored cleared with a scan tool.before test drive to see if repairs are done proper.
