SOURCE: c320 starting problem
Hello,
I had the same problem with mine. Disconnect the power seat moduale underneath the seats. Recharge the battery and shouldn't happen again. Providing the battery hasn't worn down past the charging point. Worst case you will have to get a new battery. If you google C320 battery drains you will see hundreds of other peoples posts.
Good Luck

I had the exact same problem, went to the Mercedes dealer and they fixed it for free with a pair of pliers. They just pulled up the metal clips and turned them back into place.
SOURCE: 98 SL500 dead battery. Can't open trunk to get to
Hi Your S class has two batteries. The smaller one is located in the engine bay, and the bigger one in the boot (trunk). No need to access any of them, simply open the door with key, insert key to start engine, you will notice that not all ignition lights will come on, but the engine WILL start, and the batteries will be recharged after a short while.
MB fault codes @ 005 "Engine coolant temperature sensor intermittent connection." It must be some loose connection somewhere. Check the fuses, relays or worse you may have a fried wiring harness, very common with MB's.
