My 1989 GMC Vandura wipers stopped working suddenly. No warning. Fuse is ok. Power wire still has power going to the wiper motor. Not sure how to test the switch or motor. Please help.

make sure the motor is getting a good ground otherwise wak that ****** with a hammer,it may have just jambed up so check all moving wiper arms and rods from motor to wipers. If you have power to motor then it can only be motor or linkages

1990 chevy 1500 4/4 half ton wipers don't work? I burnt up wiring on my 90 chevy silverado with carb back fire. Replaced wiring with 1989 chevy same model all plugs matched up except oil pressur switch has...

Your best bet here is to go to the dealer or a reputable tune up shop and see if they will provide you with wiring diagrams for both years. If you explain your predicament, they will most likely give them to you. They don't like to tackle these kinds of jobs. Then you will have to go through them to see what is different. That is the only way to solve this problem.
Every year there are changes in the details with wiring harness and it's probable that you may have to change the position of some wires going into or out of the computer. Trace out the circuit on both diagrams and reconfigure the 89 harness to match the contact points and routing obf the 90 and you should be able to get your wipers working properly and your gauges to stop flashing. Hope this helps.

I have a '97 Chevy 1/2 ton 4x4 PU. Very good

Sounds like a loose connection, Clean the fuse contacts. Sometimes lubricant and dirt gets on the contacts within the switch itself and this will interfere with power supply. Have you checked the wiper relay corrosion and wear on the relay contacts impair electrical connection. Brighten up contacts with fine sand paper and if the relay contacts are suspect, remove the cover and draw folded sand paper between the contacts until clean.

Windshield wipers in my 1989 gmc sierra k1500 only work on high no low or delays

If you raise your hood and look at your wiper motor on the fire wall there is ablack plastic cover over the motor remove that and you will see a chip board that is replacable its usually around $20 or so, which is cheap way to find out if your wiper switch or multifunction switch is bad, since they arwe far more expensive! if the board does not solve your problem then suspect multifunction switch!

No power to wiper motor, 1990 chevy s-10 blazer. No power to fuse block (just the wiper fuse)

It would have to be in the ignition switch, this ,when turned on,sends power to the fuse.
