Just wanting to know what to ask for when I take my Envoy into the dealers for its 90000 mile maintenance. Plan on oil and filter, any lubrication, check air filter, rotate tires, etc, but is there any major stuff that I should plan on like transmission service, brake fluid drain, CV joint service, etc. Thanks
I looked up the service schedule for you, at 100 000 miles the transmission fluid and filter should eb changed/ flushed. Transfer case drain and filled(assuming its a 4x4) Spark plugs are due for changing and i personally recomend the fuel filter if you havent done it in a year or so. I dont recomend brake fluid flushes unless brakes are being changed. Your mechanic should go through all the fluids aswell to see if the coolant is still holding strong and not to high of a ph level or contaminated. Ask them to check to make sure the front end is still tight, you might need a minor fix and alignment at your mileage and stuff like that.
Did you try looking up something like "90,000 mile Envoy maintenance schedule" and see what the recommendations are? I know I would ask " How much is this going to cost me?" :0)
SOURCE: front cv joint lubrication
you do not lube them they are full of grease.if boot tears and splatters the grease out then you replace boot or anymore just as cheap to replace axle. Some lube centers try and sell a lube service on these where they poke a hole in your boot and pump grease in them. This is a no no as it causes your joint to start leaking

no you cant grease a cv joint, it is a sealed unit and comes pre greased! when you turn sharp at slow speeds does it sound like rocks rolling around in a coffee ca? then its a cv axle! also check large boots at both end of each axle. if the boot is torn the cv axle is either bad or will need replaced very soon! yes a back yard mech can replace easily but you will need a front end alignment when you are done! hints for replaceing! pop axle out with a pry bar at trasmission., to put back it use old end nut only 1/4 of the way on and hit with a hammer to seat lock ring then check at tranny to make sure it is seate! hope this helps

you may have wheel bearn going. they will make noise grinding when you trun
SOURCE: severe bearing noise from front wheel bearing/cv
you have to replace bearing and hub as a unit.you have to remove remove brakes and caliper rotor set them aside dont disconnect brake line. get a piece of clothes rack wire to hold brake caliper .do not let it hang by brake hose. you got to remove hub nut. best way to do that is loosen it a litttle while tire still on weight of car keep wheel from turning .
