Prior to starting it,, do you hear the pump stop? if not you have a faulty pump, or you have a leak someplace in the line itself, Once your line pressures up,, It should stay that way, even when off for periods of time,, check the pressure at the end of the line away from the gas tank, it should remain constant

Could possibly be the anti theft system. Check out this link. When the SECURITY fails, you should see a light on the dash that says security. A symptom of a failed anti theft is starting for 1-5 seconds and then stalling repeatedly. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

Why does my truck start up and run for about 10 seconds before it dies? I

It should at least run for several seconds after you turn the key on. It MAY run longer, but it SHOULD run for several seconds. If fuel demand goes down (engine not burning much fuel), the pump may not run after that.

2000 kia sephia cranks but engine wont run

The fuel pump may have died. Can you hear it turn on briefly, by turning the key to "on"? You may have to stand by the gas tank while someone turns the key to on. It should turn on for about 2 seconds and then stop, after pressurizing the fuel system. If you don't hear it, then check the fuel pump fuse. If the fuse is good, and the pump won't run, one needs to check that the fuel pump wire at the tank connector has battery voltage on it when the engine is cranking-then, you can assume the pump needs replacing.
If the pump is working and you have gas up to the engine, you would next check the ignition system. Start that by checking for spark on one of the spark plug wires.

Fuel pump/filter? ran out of gas, can't seem to prime after 2 gal in tank, runs when placing a bit in through throttle body then dies.

might of clogged filter also 2 gal might not be enough check for fuel pump noise also when you run these cars out of fuel the pump over heats and goes bad

On frist attemp to start car, cranks then dies after few seconds ckd fuel rail , had no pressure , replaced fuel pump regulator , no help !

do you hear the fuel pump turn on when you turn the key to the run position? If not the check the fuel pump relay.

If the car will start and run for a few seconds then die, It may well be the crank position sensor.

Running fine. Died and wont start. Cranks fine

can you hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key on but without crancking the engine? Generally the fuel pump will prime for about two to three seconds when you first turn the key on. if you don't hear it that's probably the culprit. If you do hear it it may be a bad pump. also should check to see if you have spark. You can do this by removing a plug wire and using another spark plug. Ground the plug to somthing metal and have someone crank the engine (making sure you are not touching the plug or metal) You should see a spark while cranking. Good luck

2001 cavalier barely starts, sometimes runs for a few seconds, then dies. i already changed fuel filter, pump relay, new plugs also. i can hear fuel pump come on for a few seconds, when turning on the key....

Three things.
First, you need to check the MAF sensor for contamination.

Second, check fuel pressure, if you dont have a gauge, autozone and Advance have them on their tool loaner program.
Should see 35-40 psi with key on engine off, cycle key a few times, if it takes a while to build up, replace filter and retest.

Third, possible convertor blockage, easiest check is to remove the 02 sensor and try to start with the hole open, if it runs, then that is it, specs allow for 2-3 lbs of back pressure max. That means if you can hear pressure escaping, it is a problem area.
