I believe the fuel pump went out in my truck but before I go and repair that is there a fuel pump relay switch that I can check before replacing my fuel pum?
Re: I believe the fuel pump went out in my truck but...
Turn the key on without starting thye engine
you should hear tye fuel pump run for 5 seconds
if not replace the oil pressure switch on the engine
If heard replace the fuel pump relay
I take it you don't have a service manual of any sort this sensor runs a circuit to the pump upon starting to prime when the oil pressure reaches normal operating range the computer turns it off and turns on the relay to run the pumpI take it you don't have a service manual of any sort

Sounds like you shorted and burnt your relay when replacing the fuel pump.
Double check the wiring of your pump to make sure you got nothing backward, and replace the relay, also double and triple check all your fuel related fuses.
The relay grounds are the fuel pump and the ECM. If it over heats, it's because the pump is pulling to many amps. Replace the hot wire to the pump and the ground wire from the pump. One or both will solve your problem.
I believe it is integrated in the K40 relay module in the front right engine compartment next to the ME control unit. I also believe the 97 W210 relay was moved outside of it. That fuel pump should be outside of the tank so it will be easy to test for power and ground at the pump if you are having a fuel related issue. I have replaced many more fuel pumps on these vehicles than relays. I usually replace the relay as a precautionary measure, but not because it failed. I hope this helps you.
check fuses relay on left inner fender in black box take on lid inside of box they are marked if all fusses & relays are all right, then your fuel pump is went bad
Check out the Passlock problem. The stinkin' car thinks it is being stolen and does not send fuel to the injectors. Nothing to do with fuel pump. This car is one of the many reasons GM went bankrupt and we taxpayers are now the "happy" owners of a **** company.
Check for 12 volts power at the fuel pump harness. If no power is going to the pump, check the fuel pump relay. Also, check the fuel pump inertia switch. Ford usually has it on either inside left or right rear trunk fenders.
MAYBE NOT. SWAP THE WIPER RELAY FOR THE FUEL PUMP RELAY TO SEE IF THE PUMP TURNS ON. IF IT DOES NOT OPERATE, THEN WHILE SOMEONE TURNS THE KEY TO THE ON POSITION, BANG ON THE BOTTOM OF THE FUEL TANK AND REPEAT THIS AND YOU SHOULD HEAR THE PUMP AFTER A FEW JOLTS TO THE PUMP MOTOR. IF THE PUMP DOES TURN ON, THEN DRIVE IT TO WHERE EVER YOU PLAN ON HAVING IT REPAIRED. THIS MAY ONLY RUN ONE OR TWO TIMES USING THIS METHOD. IF YOU NEED TO BANG ON THE TANK TO JAR THE PUMP LOOSE, THEN IT NEEDS TO BE CHANGED. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED. THANK YOU FOR USING FIX-YA AND THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR AN HONEST RATING. BEST OF LUCK
Your have a Fuel Pump A Control Circuit /Open try these possible solutions. Using a OBD II scan tool. Free use at Autozone. Check operation of fuelpump. Remove the glove compartment. Turn the ignition switch to ON. CHECK: Connect terminal FC of the ECM connector and the body ground. Check for the fuel pressure in the inlet hose when it is pinched by hand. OK:There is pressure in the fuel inlet hose.At this time, you will hear a fuel flowing noise .OK. Check for starter signal circuit Check for ECM power source circuit, if no good Repair or replace.OK Check circuit opening relay, if no good Replace circuit opening relay.OK. Check voltage between terminal FC of ECM connector and body ground to do this Remove the glove compartment Turn the ignition switch ON. Measure the voltage between terminal FC of the ECM connector and the body ground OK: Voltage: 9 – 14 V OK. Check for open in harness and connector between EFI main relay (Marking: EFI) and circuitopening relay, and circuit opening relay and ECM. Check fuelpump, if no good Repair or replace fuelpump.OK. Check for open in harness and connector between circuit opening relay and fuel pump, and fuelpump and body ground, if no good Repair or replace harness or connector.OK Check and replace ECM. Good luck and I really hope this solves that problem you are having. Please rate me. If you need further assistance you can always ask me.
