I ACCIDENTALLY PUT WINDSHIELD WASHER FLUID IN MY COOLANT OVERFLOW TANK. I THEN DRAINED ALL OF THE REMAINING WASHER FLUID AND REPLACED IT WITH ANTIFREEZE PER THE DIRECTIONS I GOT FROM ONLINE. AS I WAS DRIVING TODAY I REALIZED THAT THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE IS STILL READING AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. I AM LOST *** TO WHAT ELSE I COULD DO WITHOUT TAKING IT TO A SHOP AND BEING SEVERELY OVERCHARGED. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

Its not the end of the world as we know it.
You could probably take the tank off and clean it out and go on.
The only down side is the solvent will dilute the coolant, but not that much.
It basically depends up on ,what is your car model and year. But the fluid is located in reservoir.
The power steering fluid reservoir is located next to the coolant overflow tank and the windshield washer fluid reservoir. The location of reservoir can be different or some car model ans year. Thanks.Helpmech.
There should be a coolant overflow tank located in the engine compartment. It will look about the same as the windshield washer tank. This should supply coolant back and forth to your radiator.. Hope this helps.. If all else fails send me a pic of engine and I will point it out for you..
You still have a lot of air in the cooling system and you have to speed up the water pump to get any coolant to flow through the heater. Let the engine cool off, then open the radiator cap and top off the radiator. Pour the coolant in at a rate slow enough to let the air bubble up without splashing the coolant back out. Once you get the coolant level up to the top overflow hose, the remaining air will be pushed out by expansion through the overflow tank once the engine gets hot, and will be replaced by coolant from the tank on cool-down.
IF THERE IS NO RADIATOR CAP ON TOP OF THE RADIATOR, YOU SHOULD SEE A SMALL HOSE TO THE TOP OF THE RADIATOR FOLLOW THAT TO ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER, THERE WILL BE A WHITE OR YELLOWISH CONTAINER ON THE WHEEL WELL, WITH A CAP ON TOP! IT USUALLY HAS COOLANT PRINTED ON IT! THAT IS WHERE YOU CAN PUT THE COOLANT!
what kind of antifreeze?...radiator fluid?...if Rad fluid..look for your overflow tank, and add it there. The cap may be yellow, and may have "rad fluid only" printed on it.
gas line antifreeze goes directly into the fuel filler
windshield washer winter(antifreeze) goes into the wishy washy reservoir
There are 2 ways to add coolant, 1) the overflow tank (resembles windshield washer tank) it's plastic and has a line that connects to the neck of the radiator. 2) With the car cold, you can open the radiator cap and add coolant. IMPORTANT: Never open a radiator cap when the car is warm.
On the overflow tank, there are 2 FILL LINES, 1 for when the engine is cold and another when it's warm. If adding directly to the radiator, fill until the level approaches the neck of the radiator.
Add it to the clear plastic overflow tank.

Underhood Check
Engine oil--Check the engine oil level.
Coolant--Check the radiator coolant level in the reservoir.
Battery-- Visually check battery cables and connections.
Automatic transmission--Check the fluid level.
Master cylinder--Check the fluid level.
Power Steering--Check the fluid level.
Windshield washer--Check the fluid level.
Belts & hoses--Visually check all belts and hoses for wear.
NOTE: In addition to the items listed above there are cases with some manufacturer's where odd components such as manual transmission/transaxles and front differentials many be equipped with a dipstick found underhood for fluid level check. If you are unsure of a dipstick on your vehicle, check with the owners manual.
Coolant in 50% concentration goes into the coolant overflow bottle. Windshield wiper fluid into the wiper fluid bottle. Power steering fluid into the power steering fluid bottle. You do not need to add any other fluids to these. Do not add water to the washer fluid bottle for example, if you drive in a climate that would allow it to freeze.
