I have the 6 CD with navigation tux sound system. My problem is that all of a sudden all my high speakers went out. The subs are still working because you can hear the bass. What could be the problem? Does this system have a seperate amp for the highs or are there fuses that could have blown? Please advise. Thanks in advance.

SOURCE: 98 lincoln navigator loud noise, shaking, high rpm at idle, drive

I don't know how much oil you had to put in but it sounds like you have maybe more than opne issue and both sound major. One is engine reving and speed not picking up sounds like trans problem. Two the engine shaking and making noise and being run low on oil leans toward possible engine damage. If your mechanicly inclined check all fluids and when checking trans fluid smell it. If it smells burnt the trans has been damaged. Check oil pressure and make sure coolant is full. You may have to take it into the shop.

High Pitched ear ringing sound coming thru somewhere up front by navigator system

Some things I would check are do you have blue tooth in operation. Do you have any form of michrophone in the cab as it sounds like a feed back problem coming through your speakers. Talk to a radio techie to see what he thinks

No sound from speakers

I ran into the same issue... everything was working correctly from the display screen (AM,FM,XM,iPod,Bluetooth) picking up stations, and all controls were working, but no sound at all. I called the dealer and found out there is a reset button that reboots the entire nav/audio system. It is a pin-hole located just to the left of the CD slot on the console. You will need a paper-clip or somthing that size to push it. Hold it in for a few seconds while the system is on and it will shut down and reset. I have to warn you that it does erase almost all of your presets, but did seem to keep my Bluetooth pairings and my nav address book. Good luck!

Subwoofer is not playing

It is hard to say. The sub-woofer has its own amplifier, although it is supplied the sound data from the main amplifier. It could have a problem with the battery power circuit (Sub-Woofer Amplifier Connector Pin 6, LIGHT GREEN/VIOLET) or it could have a problem with the GROUND circuit (Pin 2, BLACK/LIGHT GREEN) Or it could possibly not be receiving the signal from the main amplifier (Pin 7, BROWN/ORANGE "+"), (Pin 8, RED/BLACK "-"). Or it could be that either the sub-woofer speaker is blown, or the sub-woofer amplifier is defective.
There is also a "High Audio Mute" circuit that connects between the main amplifier and the sub-woofer amplifier.

I am replacing the blown front door speakers in my 2001 9-3 convertible with premium sound system. The speakers are stamped 4 ohm. I believe they are subs based upon what I have been able to dig up. ...

Actually the door speakers( less than 50W) do not need high wattage speakers as they are mainly powered from the head unit. Unless you are powering with a power amp a speaker of 300 watts is not required. But if the mountings are correct , the impedance of 4 ohms is correct, then it will fit OK and work. The only main issue will be the sensitivity issue of the speakers to work with a low output.
I have considered that a highly sensitive speaker( small voltage response) will sound great like an expensive power amplifier and high wattage speakers. Jensen had some good ranges in the 80's but now we have hard suspensions with poor response.
So my final suggestion is if powered from your head unit test it , there is no damage but if there is a response problem if you are a soft listener. Other wise there is nothing to worry on as the amp will handle except your listening pleasure.
So test to decide. Credit me if this info is helpful.

Check ALL the ground wires. Did you use a fuse block power source for the subs?

Radio wont work but navigation and tv working

Dude, i had the same problem. I tightened up the relay from the positive terminal on the battery that sits right next to the terminal, i took off the negative and put it back on, and unplugged the wires that go from amp to speakers and plugged them back in. started working fine. It would be your best bet to reset the comp by taking off neg. and putting back on.
