I lost one & only key of my Toyota Prius Gen3 smart key. could you please tell me how to program the new key what i got down from Japan. and also one of my friend having a A/D T300 key programmer.we tried our best to use it to program the key but according to my knowledge T300 can not program it without having a programmed key.

The following components may be at fault:
1. No. 1 Motor generator -
2. Hybrid control system.
3. Immobilizer.
4. Smart key system.
5. Mass Air Flow sensor.
I had the same problem with 2007 Prius. Before doing the resetting procedure, look under the steering wheel and see if there is a "key" button. Mine had been pushed in,inadvertently during an inspection, which immobilized the "smart" operation. Simply pushing the button solved the problem.
your local toyota dealer should take no more than 1/2 hour to reprogram all remotes and keys to match...(the computer only allows 30 mins before the whole sequence has to be redone...)
Yes, the battery can be the culprit, and it is easily changed.
Remove the metal key from the side of the smart key, and then split the casing of the smart key, via the slot. There is a small circular battery that you can remove and replace. Use the exact same battery.
No Re-programming is necessary. The smart key frequency is coded to the car. Changing the battery does not change the frequency.
if it was me i would go to a toyota dealer with my vin number and if you look on the door it will tell you what month the car was made also take paper to the car registraton to prove you are the owner and they will get you a key you may even have to have the car tow so call the dealer ship first because the new key has to be program to work with the car
