2001 volvo s80 rough ideal below 40 mph especially when the ac is on. Also if i press the throttle while in park or in drive at low speed the ideal gets rough (pulsates and often stalls).

Back to the mechanic - sounds like either an IAC motor or TPS sensor is the problem, but also could be the throttle cable (sticking leaving the throttle not fully closed).

If you did a DIY job on the TB of this car you will need to take it to Volvo to have the new throttle body "familiarized" with the car, the problem is software related

The Exhaust Converters are worn out
PO420 & PO430

Replace them & then diagnose any other
code issues, from there.

The exact same set of codes have just come up on my car, the same car and year. Did you solve it? I am thinking cleaning the throttle body first, any help appreciated....

The throttle module is the culprit. The car is in the "Limping" mode. Either the module can be reset or need to be replaced. Only Authorised Volvo workshop can do it.

Have your idle air control valve checked. It seems as it is not allowing enough air thru when at low speeds or idle which is why your engine is stalling. Check your throttle position sensor as well. IF those are ok, have your throttle body and plate cleaned out with a carbeutor spray cleaner

You could have a bad or contaminated Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor. You can get a used one online for less then 100. You can also purchase a can of MAF sensor cleaner at a local auto supplies store and clean it. It located right at the air filter housing.

take it to an exhaust system service centre and let them remove and check it, befor going back up drive car to see if condition improved
