Older Nissans have a lot of vacuum line. basically anything that is a small rubber hose that is in the engine bay is a vacuum line. mostly lines that connect to the intake, throttle body, and valve cover. since they sre so numerous I can;t begin ot explain where to start but those are the basics.

I have a 1995 Maxima, and have had this problem for about a year! I have replaced the fuel pump twice (very expensive) and have learned to deal with the constant engine shutting down. If you want to email me maybe I can help you out [email protected]

How can you tell the fuel pump is going out

Sounds more like a clogged catalytic converter or exhaust than a bad fuel pump.

How To Test The Fuel Pump 1990 2000 3 0L Ford Taurus
You are on the right track in replacing the fuel filter. Not enough fuel is getting to the engine. It could be a number of other things ... bad fuel pump or dirty injectors to name a couple. The link shows how to check fuel pressure ... which would tell you if the things like the pump are bad.
Might try some fuel additive injector cleaner to the gas tank to see if things improve ... relatively easy.
If it is the fuel pump or other fuel supply problems ... those are harder to fix

92 maxima jerking an sputtering does not stall what could this be

It could be one or a combination of a few things. 1.) There could be moisture in the gas. 2.) A bad fuel filter. 3.) If you seem to lose power as you're driving, it could be your converter. I would check the fuel filter first.

Car turning off

Hi, first thing I'd check would be the fuel filter to make sure it's not restricted, then maybe sparkplugs etc, hope this gets you going :)

I have a 1995 nissan maxima I did a tune up on the car I change the spark plugs and the gas filter , pc vavle, air filter and the car still fluttering. It act like It doesn't wanna go when I start the car...

try checking your carberator screw setting or have you though maybe you gas tank needs to be replaced sometime gook builds up on the bottom of your tank, and did you change all you fuel filters there is also one under the car in the back......also did you gap your spark plugs right...
