My 94 grand marquis's power lock and unlock buttons quit working for all 4 door locks, yet still works for all four windows. Bought new driver side power control module and the same result, windows work but power locks don't. Any ideas if there is a relay or anything besides all four attenuators going out simultaneous.

Sounds like signal loss at the master switch.

Go to your local library. They have programs on their systems that will tell
you everything you ever wanted to know. These things are relatively easy to fix.

Pull the switch panel and verify you have power to the panel first.

It is a PAIN. You have to be very precise and have good timing. I had to repeat the whole thing about 4 times before it worked. As a side note, a great place to read EVERYTHING about your car is at rl.acurazine.com it is terrific.


• This system accepts up to two transmitters.
• Entering the programming mode cancels all learned
transmitter codes, so none of the previously
programmed transmitters will work. You must
reprogram all the transmitters once you're in the
programming mode.

1. Open the driver's door.

2. Push up the driver's door master power door lock to
the unlock position. Hold it there for the rest of this
procedure.

3. Insert the key in the ignition switch, then remove it.
Repeat this four more times within 10 seconds.
(Steps 3 and 4 must be completed within 10
seconds, or the system will exit the programming
mode.)

4. Insert the key in the ignition switch. Make sure the
power door locks cycle to indicate that the system
has entered programming mode.

5. Press the "LOCK" or "UNLOCK" button on the
transmitter. Make sure the power door locks (all
except the driver's door) cycle to indicate that the
transmitter has been accepted.

6. To program a second transmitter, press its "LOCK"
or "UNLOCK" button within 10 seconds.

7. Release the master power door lock switch to exit
the programming mode.

Does the driver side door lock and unlock when you press the lock/unlock button on the handle?

If it doesn't work inside either, then either the wiring is damaged/shorted, the solenoid may be bad or the lock may be jammed.

If the lock is jammed then it will be difficult to lock and unlock with the key as well.

Any of those three problems will require you to take the door panel off and inspect behind it.

usually the truck and car fobs work on different signals. you can get inexpensive fobs on ebay, the car fob will have four buttons with a trunk release button.
once you have the correct fob, its pretty easy.

• Just remember that you must also re-program your currently working remotes at this time also as if they are new since prior remotes are erased.
• Max of 4 transmitters can be programmed.

Procedure:

• Keep the driver's door open.
• Electronically unlock the doors (Switch on door or working transmitter)
• 2000-2006: Turn the ignition from OFF to RUN/ON 8 times within 10 seconds, with the eighth turn ending in RUN. If the module has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and then unlock all doors.
• Within 20 seconds, press any button on an transmitter, and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each transmitter has been programmed. Repeat this step for each transmitter.
• NOTE: If the door locks do not respond for any transmitter, wait several seconds and press the button again.
• To exit the programming mode:
• • Turn ignition to the OFF position.
  • Let the 20 seconds expire.
    
  • The maximum number of transmitters have been programmed.

Remove all screws to door panel. Remove the lock and window controls. Then take large flat-tip screwdriver and gently pry directly next to plastic studs holding panel on to door. Lift door panel off. Remove plastic out of the way. You will now have access to window motor. You may have to solder off old wiring. Or if you have enough to cut, would be good

you need to take out the door panal and work from the inside of the panal. Open it from there.

10 year old remotes go bad often, especially due to moisture retention.
