My windows will go down but not up Yes, I have the same problem. It seems to be common since I had the same problem on another window, I also had the problem with my rear window and my sunroof. All three happened at different times and those were covered under warranty. I am now just 4 months out of my warranty and I will have to pay for this repair along with the other major problems i am having.

More than likely your window motors are going out. The only way to properly diagnose them is to take the door panel off, find the connector going to the motor, backprobe BOTH wires at the same time with a 12v trest light or similar while the window switch is pushed. What you're doing is making sure that there is both power and ground at the motor (just checking for power isn't enough). If there is power and ground at the motor when you push the switch up and down, then you have a bad motor......

Problem: power window does not always move when switch is pressed. Solution: the switch contacts needed cleaning, as the previous posting suggested.
How to remove: Remove switch panel from the center console by prying from the back and then the front. There are two snap features at each end that hold it in to the center console.
Unplug the two wiring harness connectors by releasing their respective latches.
Separate the window switch housing from the panel by releasing a set of four snap features. A small flat-blade screwdriver is handy here. Note the dove-tail features centered between each side pair of snaps. You will need to insure proper engagement of the dove-tails when you reassemble.
The bottom of the switch housing is then removed by releasing four more snap features.
The circuit board and switch contact assembly is inside and is removed by releasing yet four more snap features. Caution: once this assembly is unsnapped from inside the housing, the switch contacts for all the switches become loose and will fall out when the contact assembly is removed from the housing. That is OK, but do not loose the small metal pieces!
Clean all the contact surfaces that show signs of electrical arcing: the posts in the assembly and the individual contact pieces that fell out. I used a small abrasive stone to shine them up.
Reassembly: Holding the contact assembly in its upright position, set all the small contact pieces in their respective locations by engaging their middle side notches with the small plastic tabs in the assembly. With all the loose contacts set in place, keep the assembly upright and carefully insert the assembly into the switch housing until it is snapped into place. Then snap the housing's bottom cover into place. Snap the complete housing into the panel, making sure the dove-tail features are engaged. If they are not, the four snap features will not stay engaged. You may have to remove the power mirror switch housing (held by two snaps) to allow you to squeeze the dovetails together while you insert the housing. Reconnect the two wiring harness connectors. Snap the panel into the console. That's it.

    Motor check
Connect the motor terminals directly to the battery and check that the motor operates smoothly. Next, reverse the polarity and check that the motor operates smoothly in the reverse direction. If the operation is abnormal, replace the motor.

    Relay check

    1.

Check the continuity between terminals "3" and "5" with an ohmmeter.

    2.

Apply DC 12V to terminal "3" and ground terminal "5".

    3.

Check for continuity between terminals "1" and "2".

2001 kia sportage front right power window won't go up. Motor seems to be working but a cable may possibly come loose. We saw a cable but it did not seem very tight.

Yes, it sounds like a cable is broken. VERY COMMON. You will have to replace your window regulator assembly.
They are REALLY proud of this thing on your vehicle....It is pretty expensive - around $235.00. It looks like the picture below.

Do i need a fuse to row up my window it whent down now will not go up

Yes there are fuses that control pwr windows but it controls all windows so if one is working and the other isnt its not your fuse. You may have a problem with the switch, wiring or most commonly the window motor/regulator assembly. Does it try to come up or does nothing when the switch is pressed?

Window in drivers door is down and wont go up

Yes so the switch is faulty this is more common in electric window failure than anything else. If you fit a new switch then it should be sorted.

Windows will not go up or down and a/c unit will not kick in

Same window? Those Jeeps are fully of unreliable relays. Start checking (swapping) those that work, with those circuits that seem not to. A very common problem--lots of owners carry a couple of spare relays in the glove box.
