Hi i have a 2005 ford focus sedan manual
recently i was getting a brake light bulb warning ...when i changed the bulb to correct specified...the brake lights stay on all the time as well as front parkers and number plate lights ?
Can you suggest what the problem is?
and how to rectify it ?
Thank
Mark

-Make sure the correct fuse. And did you check the bulb? If yes the bulb are good. -next check power at the bulb. Ask a helper to help you brake and check any power there or not. If yes there is power. Then the problem is NOT Ground.
That should be on two different fuses, but everything goes thru the turn signal switch. The switch might be faulty. A mechanic would check for voltage there.
one or more of your bulbs in the brake light sockets is wrong or you have a short circuit between the brake light wire(s) and the running light wiring.
two fuses one for each side if fronts work fuses ok ,check bulbs again across a battery ,and make sure the bulbs are the correct fittings ,ie-single pole or double pole
hi, i have sorted this problem on my 99 focus ghia.,check both your tail light bulbs.someone put the wrong bulb in and i had the exact same problems you described.the bulb for brake/tail light has two steel connecters and and all other bulbs have one.i put proper bulb in and the problem disappeared.now lights working perfect and sidelights dont come on now when i brake :)change both brake/tail bulbs on each side.1 euro will fix this problem.hope this helps.
