2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Logo
Anonymous Posted on Jun 05, 2011

I have a 2004 Jeep Cherokee Laredo. An indicator (with a symbol of what looks like a radiator) below the low fuel indicator (bottom left had side of the dashboard) lights up and remains on. I have checked the temperature gauge and that remains ok, when cool I check the radiator and this appears ok too. Can someone tell me what this symbol means or what attention is required to fix the problem. Much appreciated!

Is that your instrument cluster? Are you talking about the MIL light?

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V6. Getting a P0320 after installing a timing chain with no start.

Question edited for clarity.

The timing is messed up. Normally it has to be TDC on the Compression Stroke of Cylinder 1. It is a FOUR stroke engine so there are 4 lots of TDC. Or you lock everything using a timing kit, which locks the crank and the cam sprockets..

A P0320 code indicates an issue with the signal that indicates the speed of the engine. This means that the ECM (engine control module) doesn't know where the crankshaft or camshaft is, so it isn't able to distribute fuel or fire spark plugs at the right time.

p0320 Code - Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit

Cigarette lighter socket not working in my 2004 Cherokee. Guessing it's a fuse blown. Where is the fuse box located and which fuse do I need to check? I don't have a service manual to consult. Thanks.

I looked at info, 04 jeep grand cherokee laredo. The junction block should be under left side of dash. I don't know, my database only showed the grand cherokee? Hope it's the same?

Where is the automatic shutdown relay on my 1996 jeep cherokee laredo located

It should be located under the hood on the left side of the engine as you are looking at it (on the right side technically) It is located with a Relay Box = Power Distribution Center = IPM. Take the cover off. On the back (inside) of the cover is the identification map of each Relay. Usually it will be abbreviated ASD Relay.

What does your temperature gauge say? Make sure you're not overheating. Steam is always an indicator that something is amiss with the radiator. Never open it when it's hot!

2004 jeep grand laredo MIL(malfunction indicator light)

Yes it can be caused by low quality fuel, and your gas cap not being installed properly. Best bet is the gas cap, so take it off and screw it back on. Then take your vehicle to autozone and hook up diagnostics to clear your MIL.
