Hope this helps you ??
Hi there,
Generally, modern vehicles with factory installed electric antennas do not require replacement, unless the antenna motor itself is faulty, or the cable has snapped. I can't help with a complete antenna removal.
However, if you are simply wanting to replace a broken "mast" (ie the metal pole piece), then you can usually buy the mast as a spare part by itself.
Simple MAST replacement:
1) using a suitable tool, undo the locknut securing the antenna to the body (loosen anti clockwise) and remove the nut.
2) Turn the radio ON - this will cause the motor to wind upwards.
3) as the motor is still winding upwards, pull the broken mast up out of the body until the cable comes free (note the direction of the cable teeth). Withdraw the entire mast and cable.
4) Insert cable of new mast into the cavity (ensure teeth are facing the correct way) until cable can't go in any further.
5) Align new mast with cavity, then turn radio to OFF.
6) As antenna motor starts winding downwards, ensure teeth of new cable grab and new cable begins to retract downward.
7) Allow the new mast to retract down into the cavity - it should go all the way down. If it doesn't go all the way down, repeat steps 4-7.
Note: if after many attempts, the new antenna mast will not go down completely, withdraw antenna and cable. Cut just enough cable off the new mast (small amounts at a time), to allow the mast to retract fully. DO NOT CUT TOO MUCH OFF.
8) once mast is fully retracted, refit the locknut and tighten
Hope this helps....
