THE GEAR INDICATOR LIGHT IS OUT. HAVE CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND THEY ARE OK. THIS IS THE LIGHT THAT SHOWS WHAT GEAR YOU ARE IN. NO PROBLEM WITH PUTTING THE CAR IN GEAR. JUST CAN'T SEE WHAT GEAR YOU ARE IN BECAUSE THE LIGHT IS OUT. No PRNDL light and no odometer/trip odometer light
This requires lamp replacement - and that means pulling the instrument cluster. I have done this on several cars, it has been easier than one may think. Read up or look for YouTube video for your car. Given the age and one has failed, pretty shortly all will statistically - so replace the rest. This repair takes me about 30 minutes - you may want to leave this to a shop mechanic.
SOURCE: LIGHT ON PRNDL OUT ON DASH
it could be something as simple as a bulb being burnt on the dash panel
SOURCE: The dash lights for odometer and gear indicator is out
maybe but sounds like a couple of lights have burned out,. the owners manual should tell you where the fuse box is located. The dash light for the odometer/gear indicator may be accessible from under the dash, get an auto maintance repair manual from the local auto parts store , perfably a chiltons for about 20.00. It will help u loctae the dash lights and the fuse box more readily.

January, 2009. I have the same problem. Car has about 120,000 miles. Transmission was just overhauled at 116,000. I had almost 300,000 miles on my last two cars,...Camrys. I'm very disappointed in this Buick. Rescind their "BAILOUT".
From what I gather, Buick has been aware of this issue for years "TSB #091703. Hey! Let's price our cars less. We'll make out on repairs!
I'm going to call Manny in the next few days. Cha Ching!
