My 2000 wrangler has the same problem. I took it to my local mechanic and he said it was something that I should take to the dealer. Which I haven't done yet because of historical dealer gouging. Just not ready to pay 400 times what is necessary.

Clock spring mech is prob bad, first easy check is remove airbag 2 8mm bolt from back side of wheel make sure wires are still connected if they are good the clock spring mech is bad you can use a steering wheel puller to remove wheel and clock spring mech just snaps out and has 2 plugs on it, I have 2 if you need one.

Clockspring has gone bad
as long as the airbag lite is on the reliability of the airbag is in question...it may not deploy or it may deploy without warning

Horn on 1997 jeep wrangler has stopped working

my horn problem seems related to a bad horn connection, and a bad clockspring, (shorting out and energizing horn relay, causing battery to drain dead over weeks).

Horn blow out

The horn should be behind the grille or on one of the fenders in the engine compartment. If you unplug it and the fuse does not blow I would say the horn is done.

Horn does not stop blowing

Horn switch is located in the steering wheel if your horn button is not stuck in the pressed position than your switch is stuck if you have airbags in the vehicle and are not familar with working around them then it is best to pull htthe fuse for your horn and let a reputable mechanic fix the issue.

1998 Jeep Wrangler. Airbag light is on and the horn does not work. Have checked, replaced airbag fuses.

You have a bad "clockspring" inside the steering wheel. A bit complex to write it all out and if I forget anything the bag could deploy in your face while changing it out. You can find detailed instructions for that job in both chilton or haynes manuals.

My 1999 Jeep wrangler Horn is not working the airbag light is on and the back up light are not working. all fuses are good

Hello, I believe you may have a broken clock spring which is located in your steering wheel. Mine did this some time ago and I had it replaced. I am pretty skilled at repair work but I left this to the stealership/mechanic incase they accidentally deploy the airbag in the process of fixing it their money not mine. Good luck and let me know if I am correct or if I can offer any other help.

Hey,
take a look at www.airbagmodul.com

They're working in Airbag-Simulators and Occupancy Sensor-Simulators.
