Does the A/C compressor stay engaged after the 50 miles?

Rodney

  • Anonymous Jun 14, 2011

I would not have a clue if the A/C compressor stays engaged. Can you give me a hint as to what that means?

  • Anonymous Jun 14, 2011

Sure! When you turn your A/C on it engages a compressor that pumps the freon throughout the system.

Air bag light is on

Under the front seats there are a couple of electrical connectors, if there\'s a ton of garbage under there clean it out. Trash and objects under the seats are not good. Disconnect these connectors and inspect them if they look ok spray them down with electric contact cleaner blow them out and reconnect. It\'s the ONLY simple cause of this problem. If it doesn\'t clear out your light (sometimes takes a couple days) take it to a repair shop, I recommend dealer. Good luck, rate this and let me know how you make out

Windshield washer doesn't pump fluid, dealer says I need new wiper rain sensor

If you want to bypass it, I suggest you run a couple of wires from the battery, via a switch, directly to the washer motor. To verify what the dealer has told you, take it to another dealer or independent repair shop and get them to diagnose the problem.

Rear wheel bearings

Get a different shop to check all of the suspension components - if the struts both snapped, something is going on that's a much bigger concern than the wheel bearings. Look for bent control arms and other suspension components - check clearances and bushings everywhere in the rear, make sure nothing was installed backwards or forgotten. Struts don't just snap, and bearings should definitely not die every couple thousand miles. Also, have a dealer look at it, to make sure that things are installed properly. It won't be cheap there, but they might notice something that other shops routinely miss. I hate suggesting that ANYONE go to a dealership for service, but in this case, they're the most likely to notice something out of spec...

I have a 2003 ford escape & the digital odometer doesn't work correctly

Have the dealer do a speedometer accuracy test. They have a special tool that can electronically read the speed and then compare it to the readout of the odometer.

I have numerous proglems. I have a 2000 intrique. The right back signal light blinks very fast, doesn't work in the front. The ac blower works fine but blows warm air.A mechanic , someone my hysband...

Your rear turn signal flashes fast because the front is not working. Most likely you have a burnt out bulb in the front. If your A/C compressor can be turned over by hand and doesn't lock up or make any clanking sounds it's probably alright. The compressor will not run if the system is low on refrigerant. If you're having problems with the A/C and heater controls, that would be the first ting to repair. It doesn't sound at all like any electrical problems.

My 2002 Sebring 2.7 L engine overheats resulting in coolant boiling up into reservoir and it overflows. Cooling system was bled as well as fryon replaced in A/C to no avail. Approx. 300 km later, same...

Not knowing what the dealer did to diagnose your problem, the first thing that comes to mind is a clogged/defective thermostat. When coolant backs up into the reservoir, it's an indication of a blockage and that blockage is typically the thermostat. The problem shouldn't be related to the AC system at all.

I have a 2001 Mercury Marquette. I took it to the Mercury dealer where I bought the car for a general check up. The mechanic said my front wheel ball bearings needed to be replaced. I just passed 39K...

First with only 39K get a second opinion, sounds a little fishy to me. If they are bad here is what a dealer should charge you per side $513, but if you go to an independant shop it would around $236 per side. The dealer marks there parts up like crazy, an independant shop like me doesn`t. The parts are just as good.Hope this helps.

Not a job for a do-it-yourselfer. Head to a QUALIFIED Auto Shop. It may have a leak that needs repairing before you have it recharged....
