Uneven rear tire wear

This sounds strange. You have to confirm if the rear diff is mounted correct and confirm that the diff is not bent. The easy way is to take it in to a tire shop and check the wheel alignment.

could be ball joints. these would cause the tires to unevenly wear.

Replace the shocks.

well uneven wear is not the bearings ,the main cause is worn shock absorbers ,wheel bearings will just make a noise

It's likely the tires. The Bridgestone Turanza OEM tires were specially designed to reduce road noise, which can be an issue. If you're running a different brand of tire, then that may be the cause. Also, if one of the rear tires has an issue (e.g. uneven wear), that may also be the cause. Possible causes of uneven wear include worn rear struts, infrequent rotation, bent wheel, or wheel/tire out of balance. Wheels/tires need to be rebalanced occasionally - at least every 20k miles.

do you mean the tie rods or are you just looking there and see a part that looks bent? if both tires are wearing uneven, it could be just a rear wheel alignment that you need. did you just buy this car? it's possible something under the car is bent from a previous accident, but if you had this car for awhile and this problem just began then it may be just an alignment........good luck..p.s......if both tires are wearing uneven then it's unlikely a" rod "is bent , there would have to be a " rod " bent on both sides which is too coincidental.

Had a similar problem with a different car. Rear struts / spings were worn. Caused rear to sag enough to push wheels out and wear out inside portion of tires.

There are a multitude of ways a tire will wear unevenly and they all have unique causes. You can take it to a good tire shop and they will be able to diagnose what your specific problem and solution are.

It could be an out of balance tire
or it could be a bent wheel.
Rub your hand over the surface of the tire. If it's been out of balance, it will feel out of round and choppy.
When the tire is changed the installer can check the wheel to make sure it's not bent.
If it's been bouncing for a while it can wear out the shock prematurely as well
Start with the tire balance...it may need a new tire to solve the noise and vibrations.

Could be a number of things that you cannot "see".

First, make sure the tire pressures are within the van manufacturers specifications. The tire pressure label will be on the driver side door pillar on a little sticker. Also confirm that the tires haven't been replace with an overly greater / lesser size.

Broken radial belts inside the tires are another cause - and is also dangerous if the tire heats up enough - it's a blowout waiting to happen.

Check for ANY unusual "ripples" on the inner and outer sides of the tires, and for any unusual wear patterns.

Putting the tires on a balancer will NOT show these tire problems.

You could try narrowing the problem down to a particular tire, and putting the spare on and see if the problem goes away.

Also, I have seen "off brand" or "blem" tires do this a lot.
