Heater core replacement, 93 corsica. Ive read more than one source that says the dash does not have to be removed, but you just need to do thru the panel in the center below the dash. At least two sites Ive read say the same thing. Anyone here who has done it and can toss out a little more information? Thanks

Locate teh heater/AC air exchange box and you can oprn that by removing all teh screws around the out side edge to open it and get to the core that way. I am usually able to access them from under teh dash without ever removing the dash but that will depend on the actuall installation.

YOU NEED DRAIN COOLANT SYSTEM, THEN SAFELY RAISE SUPPORT CAR ON JACK STANDS. MAKE SURE VECHICLE SITTING ON SOLID LEVEL GROUND, WITH EMERGENCY BRAKES APPLIED YOU NEED TO DISCONNECT HEATER CORES HOSES FROM UNDERNEATH VECHICLE ******* THEN YOU HAVE TO FIRST OF ALL DISABLE AIRBAGS,FIRST TURN OFF RADIO , THEN REMOVE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE WAIT 20 MINUTES BEFORE WORKING AROUND DASH AREA. THIS ALLOW AIRBAG TIME TO DISCHARGE. REASON YOU NEED TO DISABLE AIRBAGS BECAUSE YOU HAVE AIR BAG IN THE DASH ON PASSENGER SIDE AND AIRBAG IN THE STEERING WHEEL.TO REPLACE HEATER CORE YOU HAVE TO REMOVE RADIO TO REMOVE HEATER COVER CLIPS AND THE FLOOR SHIFT CONSOLE HAS TO BE REMOVE SO YOU CAN REMOVE HEATER CORE BOTTOM COVER SCREWS SO YOU CAN DROP HEATER CORE FROM THE BOTTOM OF DASH BELOW FLOOR SHIFT CONSOLE AREA. REMOVE TRANSMISSION SHIFT KNOB YOU HAVE A LITTLE RETAINING CLIP YOU CAN REMOVE CLIP WITH SMALL FLAT HEAD SCREW DRIVER. TO REMOVE SHIFT CONSOLE OPEN ARM REST PART LOOK DOWN IN THE BOTTOM ARM REST YOU WILL SEE BOLTS HOLDING CONSOLE IN PLACE.

Step by step to remove heater core on 1991 corsica

Here's a link to replacing your heater core,it's a job,be sure to replace your seals that the boxes connect to each other or air will go thru, your's is probably dry rotted. Also make sure your outlets are pointing in the same direction on both heater cores,if they are different, then your heater hoses going to them will be too short, happen to me. Use a 2x4 to hold dash up,I did.Repair Guides Heater Air Conditioning Heater Core AutoZone com

Remove heater core on corsica

Heater core on a corsica is tricky. It's under the dash in the middle. First disconnect hoses under the hood. Then remove plastic panel 8mm bolts under dash. Remove bolts holding the clips that hold the heater core in place. To remove the heater core you must peel back the carpet or you will not be able to get it out and a new one in. Once it's out, put new one in the opposite way. The carpet has to be peeled back and heater core manouvered to get it in and out. Good luck

How do I best replace a heater core in a corsica 1995

You will have to drain all engine coolant.Disconnect your battery and your two heater core hoses that are on the fire wall in the engine compartment. Now inside the car start removing your dash.one dash is removed you will have to open you heater box to gain access to the heater core once you have gain access remove and replace. Now start replacing heater boxes dash board and reconnect heater core hoses and reconnect battery. Now top up your engine cooling system with the engine antifreeze drained you should have a extra jug of coolant in case you spilled or just needed it to top up.Now start car make sure coolant is full when cooling fans come on put rad cap on you have completed the replacement of your heater core.

How do i change a heater core on a 1995 chevy corsica

Changing the heater core is a simple process. Getting to the core to actually change it can be daunting if you have never changed one before on a corsica. All cars are different in that you have to remove enough dash parts to actually allow you to get to the core and they are all different. This is why labor charges are so high for changing a $50 part.I have never changed one on a Corsica myself. If you do this yourself, take digital photos as your go along so you will be able to put everything back in the correct order. I know this is not really the answer you want, but you are probably not going to get detailed instructions on how to do it, other than just remove enough parts to get to the heater core. Go slow and figure out how the parts come off and what parts to remove. Not an easy repair even if you have done it before. Good luck.
