You don't give the year built, but back when ECM where first introduced it was known that the vehicle would run rough for await till the ECM had time to learn so of speak, by driving on the road. We had to drive down the road a few miles first to get running right on it's own.
sounds like youre coil pack is failing.disconect the coil one at a time.and start the vehicle. if no chang in while running its the coils.the same procedure holds true to the fuel injectors.try disconecting one at a time and start the vehicle .if no change its the injector
You're correct friend, on replacing with heavier duty shocks. That would be a plus for your driving experience. The short wheelbase on these "Blazer" style vehicles does make for a rough ride.
It sounds as if you engine is not getting enough fuel. I would do a tune up on your vehicle plugs, wires, fuel filter etc. I would also put a fuel pressure guage on the fuel rail and watch the pressure as you are going down the road. When you hit the gas and duplicate the problem watch the fuel pressure if it dips really low you could have a bad fuel pressure regulator or a fuel pump that is going bad and putting out less pressure. The fuel pressure reading will give you a direction to go. You can put a mighty vac on the fuel pressure regulator and test it for vacuum, it should hold vacuum. If it doesnt it is probably bad.
check the wires to the fuel pump if they have rubbed against something and the insulation wore through hitting bumps or rain could cause it to short and kick the relay and resets again and will start
if its a five speed I can safely assume its not an automatic
good that makes it a bit easier
so you have a manual trans that makes the truck miss
that hardly seems possible
but try this
next time it does this keep your foot at same point on throttle(not floored)
and push in on clutch
does engine die
or does truck smooth out
if it dies you have an ign problem on engine
if it smooths out you have a gear case/transfer case or clutch problem
if it turns out to be the engine
ck the distributor cap for cracks
place strong light bulb inside cap ( remove it first) no need to remove all the wires
look for light on outside of cap
I had a guy bring me a 05 ranger that did all sorts of weird stuff
like not running if it was raining outside
starts right up but ran rough so bad you could not even get it in gear
and yep you guessed it the distributor cap was broke
(so bad you could see spark comming out the side )
15 bucks for a cap
