1999 pontiac transport that keeps killing batteries. Radio display goes all garbbled, drives side power window stopped working, power lock only locks (wont unlock) checked altinator and it is ok. have heard that it is common for the radio to cause a dead short?? and cause these issues?? any suggestions

have you not left any load on overnight?..like park light or left the door partially open and the dome light would be left on?

have the battery recharge and the next night, make sure that no light would be left on the car.

if it would drain out again, have it recharged again, use it and on the night, make sure no light is left on the car, then remove the positive pole on the battery overnight.

the next morning, put the positive cable back and start the car.

if the car would start, then no problem with the battery, if the car would not start, then return the battery because it is defective.

The only way to resolve this is to bring it to the dealer and have them take care of it. Most dealers do this for free

look in the owners manual... pass code should be listed. the dealer is supposed to unlock the unit befor the batt is dissconected. if you cant find in owners manual. take it back to them. its there fualt its locked!!

i have had this issue before all i had to do is do a new ground, jumped the safety window lock, as well as expanding the metal clips in the wire con.

Same problem with an '03 Golf--remote entry, power windows, and interior lights stopped working. This was easily fixed by replacing fuse #14, (10 amp), located in the driver's side fuse block.
