American cars traditionally put their dash lights and tail lights on the same fuse so that you would notice immediately when the fuse for the tail lights failed. Find the tail light fuse in your fuse box and check it.
Thank you for your advise. I followed your instructions and replaced the fuse #6c 15 amp mini in the fuse box and that temporary worked. I also replaced the taillight lamp 3057 that operates the brake and turning signal on the drivers rear. Unfornatelu the same problem has resurfaced with a 15 amp mini blown fuse. I noticed that the chimes continually chime when I turned off the engine and this notified me that I did not have dash lights or working tail lights again. Did I do something wrong or is there a more serious problem?
Sounds like there may be some wiring damage somewhere. I have no idea what the back of your car looks like. Are there any tail lights on the trunk lid? Of so, the point where wires are most likely to fail is the sharp flex point where the wire goes from the body to the trunk lid.

I did replace the fuse 6c in the fuse panel box and replaced the left rear tail light. The result was the chimes stopped chiming and the everything worked temporary but the fused blew again and I am back to step 1. Did I missed something or do I have a greater problem.
