As strange as it sounds. Tech Jenkins is almost right.
on my 02 jeep. the pigcock is located away from the bottom radiator hose.
And the thermostat is located on the bottom hose... i know it sounds weird but that is where it is at...
There is something called a pigcock, which is usually located on the side bottom of the radiator next to the lower radiator hose. The easiest way to drain your radiator is just to disconnect your lower radiator hose.
The thermostat is most commonly located at the end of the upper radiator hose going into your engine block.

depends on what motor you have, it'll either be on the bottom of radiator (you might have to move the cover to get at it) or in the rear of the engine block. if you get at them i'd simply just remove the lower hose from the radiator. just make sure car is compleatly cooled down first.

I have a 99 Astro & my drain plug is on the passenger side. Look for the small drain tube at the bottom of the plastic tank. The turn knob is right above it.

It should be on the right lower side of the radiator when looking at the engine .

The drain is located on the passenger side of the radiator at the bottom. Turn it counterclockwise to open. It is plastic so be careful if you decide to use tools to turn.
