If you have unexplained current draw, the best way to troubleshoot is with an accurate clamp on amp meter. Then you pull the fuses - all of them - and then put one fuse in at a time and write down what the reading is. When you find the item that is drawing far more current than what it should then you have a starting point.

It is a long drawn out operation and takes an accurate fuse box diagram with fuse sizes, but it does allow you to pin down unexplained current draw problems.

I have an 01 kia rio that seems to be having a problem with the battery holding a charge, battery, alternator, and even the starter are all brand new. Everything will run fine for a day or two then I

place an amp meter in the circuit of the battery earth wire and get an idea of what the current draw is so you can have an idea of what piece of equipment is using the power. Radio amps require a big draw where glove box light, boot light, interior light are small draws. If it shows a medium draw the pull the ECM fuse, or IGN fuse or light control module fuse to see if the current draw drops . Even new alternators can be faulty especially if the unit was not wired up correctly and blew a diode. All it takes is a simple touch . have an accredited auto electrician check it out on the bench

Just recently ive noticed that my dome light and my floor lights in my 02 town car continue to blink on and off after i get in and close the door. im currently trying to find the source of my battery being...

remove the earth wire of the battery and place an amp meter in the circuit to get some idea of the current draw. Low current1-2 amps will indicate a light on ( glove box light---boot light) higher indicates a much bigger short possible through a relay coil or fuel pump

When do i need to get maintenance on my 2007 mitsubishi galant?

Every week its a good idea to check tire and oil pressure, wiper fluid, coolant, the usual's. Oil changes every 3-5 months, and check-ups at least yearly with your dealer. If you bought it new, the dealer often supplies a maintenance package for the first few years.

Change or recharge the battery. Repair any exposed wires (insulation broken or worn off) on wires in affected circuit that may be shorting out and drawing current from the battery.

Last 14 months - 4 new batteries & new alternator fitted. Car still not starting and had to be returned to garage! Any ideas!

You need to have your electrical system checked for excessive draw. If the shop that worked on it has not done so, bring it to another shop...This is a routine procedure which definitely should have been done at least after the second battery! I can't offer a solution or "quick fix" because without doing that procedure I'd only be guessing!!!
