It has an ignition control module that takes the place of distributor, cap, and rotor. it is located under the ignition coils the spark plug wires go to and is held in place by the same retaining bolts that secure the two coils. it fires the 2 cylinders at a time 1 and 4 and then 2 and 3. the ICM has 2 cable connection recepticals.. also it uses a crankshaft position sensor to know when to fire after you start the motor. it is located to the lower left of the ignition coils and inserts into the crankcase and is held in place by 1 small bolt and has a connector plug to it.
You should replace your Cap and rotor....Check for any vacuum leaks, When you replaced your plugs, were there any plugs contaminated with engine oil ? Some times manifold gasket goes bad...and causes vacuum leak...Hope this helps you alittle more ???
