I was told it's about a 3 hour job to change the oil pan gasket (on a '95 Regal w/3800 ). It says you must disconnect the power steering lines (because they run along the frame by the oil pan and get in the way), drop the subframe, and raise the engine to get the oil pan off. good-day ! thats GM for ya!! lol, The frame is in your way and the only way to get it out is to move the frame.

Need help taking off oil. on a 2001 buick regal

Yes, the oil sump is in the lowest part of the pan, you will need to have clearance for the sump to get the pan off.

How do I tell if my rear main seal is leaking in my 96 Buick regal

1. Are you losing oil? Have you been told this seal is leaking? This seal is located between the engine and transmission connection. This seal will be soaken wet with oil if failing. Your motor is probably the GM 3800 V-6...this motor is not known for excessive rear seal problems. Hope this helps.

I have taken the oil pan bolts out and there is not enough clearance to remove the pan on a 2002 Buick Regal 3800 to replace the gasket. What steps do you suggest next.

Did you remove the catalytic converter, and motor mount? Lots of stuff has to come off to get this pan out. :o(

3.8L Engine
  1. Drain the engine oil.

Valve noise on Buick Regal 3800 engine--may not be getting oil to left bank.

It get oil from the camshaft-lifter oil galleries. What is the oil pressure lbs.? You probably have a stopped up oil pick up strainer in the oil pan. Always use a delco filter and not a fram filter.
