I have a 199 7Rodeo V6 3.2 liter. When ive started the car, it does OK, as still cold, but ones its warm and stop and go (stop sign or traffic ligth) and when i get up to speed star missingfires radomly it looses power in all gears. I have to keep pumping the gas pedal to keep it at speed...if u keep the pedal at a constant pressure it looses speed. when it does this sometimes the check engine light goes on. Ive learned that shutdown the engine and then restarted it come back to service normally, so I drive got the malfuntion then off the motor and then on ahain, and so, could you help to solve this problem

The MIL's on and the code is P0300 "Random Misfire Detected" and I already changed all plugs, the EGR, fuel filter, PVC, air filter, cheked coils with a multimeter, all get OK and my next is the "Idle Air Control Module" and probably the "Ignition Control Module". This is crazy sometimes works well, and when happens just off the engine restart and everything backs to normal......

Hi there! When happens I restart right away, in very rare I had to did twice. Im backing to think again in the fuel pump, let me tell you that I brough this 97 rodeo whos owner kept for 4 years broken in his driveway, found out the fuel pump was the problem, so I don't know if this problem started at that time or before. We had thinking the pump is OK however some advisors suggest to change it again, çause in one oacassion on another rodeo they had to repleced four times until work properly. Thnks for your time and advise. If you have any other idea please let me know I'll be thankful.

I have the same vehicle with the same exact problem. i have replaced all of the same parts and then some, including fuel injectors. Sometimes the vehicle will run very well cold with what seems like full power, other times it feels like it is stumbling or misfiring. These symptoms generally occur after the vehicle is watm and has been idling.

You need to get the codes read to give you more of an answer. But it sounds like either a EGR or coil getting hot and overheating or possibly bad plugs. So many thigs can do that but I would start with the cheapest (plugs). Some EGR's can be checked if it's vacume style if you can reach the diaphram underneath and push up to see if it is stuck. It should move freely and not be hard like a rock.

Possible the intake gasket is bad. . When it does this do you shut off the vehicle and restart right away and it's OK , or do you wait and keep trying until it starts fine? I must admit this is a hard one! And it will take time to find it. A p0300 can be many of things as you know. Do you try this thing's when it's doing this?

How can i minimize the fuel consumption of my jeep 2000 cherouki laredo 6 cylinders ?

There are several things you can do. Make sure the engine is in good tune, replace the air filter, Air the tires up to 34 pounds air pressure to lessen the rolling resistance, How you drive is most important. Take off from traffic light and stop signs slowly. accelerate steady, don't be in a hurry to reach cruising speed, unless, of course, you are merging with fast traffic. Anticipate stops. Start slowing down sooner when coming to a stop sign or traffic signal. Coast on the downhill streets, and use the cruise control as much as possible. Don't waste gas warming up your vehicle in cold weather. It will warm up quickly while you are driving. Any time spent idling is zero miles per gallon.

Missing at cold start both codes po171 and po174 runs ok on the road and after warmup stops missing

year make and model would help a lot.

P0171 and P0174 are lean codes. Since it is running rough at start up and goes away when warm it is usually a sign that the plenum gaskets are leaking. If this is a pickup with a 5.3 liter than for sure the intake plenum gaskets that go in between the intake and the heads are leaking. Very common problem. Once the engine warms up everything expands and the leak seals itself up.

If you can post the year make model and engine size I can help you out a little more.

1st check the coolant level. If it's low, what you describe will happen. If level is ok, let me know, and include info on engine temp gauge--how long to warm up, is gauge at warm up low temp range, normal, or hot?
