2001 Siverado: stopped truck and went to start back up, it would not start. Totally dead but the lights work and doors unlock/lock. Brand new battery. I do have an alarm and I am wondering if this is the problem. I have had no issues up until now.

Does the central locking still work when you open with the key. First place to start is a new battery in ur fob even if the lights still coming on

Probably one of the lock switches, the switch you push or toggle from inside the car to lock or unlock your doors has shorted. Try manipulating those switches until the clicking stops. Replace the effected switch. If the doors automatically lock when the car begins moving above a certain speed, it could be that relay has shorted.

You need a new battery, it is triggering the secuirty system lock out

sounds like you fried a relay ,, and will have to see a tech. for this ,, someone you trust and is ASE cert. in Auto electrical specialist

Its you antenna module above your headliner. It controlls your remote for keyless entry as well as your am/fm reception via an amplifier. GM part number is 12233252 for updated and revised version around $100 bucks online.

Easy step
Have the battery check if it's no good replaceit. The key remote will not work if you have a dead battery.

Placed jumper cables on the car to try & jump alarm sounded pressed the unlock button & was then able to start car without any problems.
