DTC P2127: Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) Sensor 2 Circuit Low Voltage
This is right out of factory service repair manual , don't google stuff may not be accurate.
If you look under the steering wheel at the gas pedal you will see connectors at the Accelerator Pedal . position sensors inside gas pedal .
Circuit/System Description
The throttle actuator control (TAC) system uses two accelerator pedal position (APP) sensors to monitor the accelerator pedal position. The APP sensors 1 and 2 are located within the pedal assembly. Each sensor has a 5-volt reference circuit, a low reference circuit, and a signal circuit.
Two processors are also used to monitor the TAC system data. Both processors are located within the engine control module (ECM). Each signal circuit provides both processors with a signal voltage proportional to pedal movement. The processors share and monitor data to verify that the indicated APP calculation is correct.
It's not see wide open throttle like other guy says .
P2127
The ECM detects that APP sensor 2 voltage is less than 0.16 volt for greater than 0.5 second.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
• DTCs P2120, P2122, P2123, P2125, P2127, P2128, and P2138 are Type A DTCs.
• The ECM commands the TAC system to operate in Reduced Engine Power mode.
Anytime the vehicle goes into reduced engine power mode A/C shuts off - cruise control won't work etc..
code p2127 refers to accelerator pedal position sensor/switch E --low input==causes wiring short to ground-- APP sensor/switch--TP switch short to ground--TP sensor/ switch
the engine light may be from a traction control problem because of the road conditions
my book shows p2127 code as accelerator pedal position (APP) sensor/switch E-- low input === causes wiring short to ground--APP sensor / switch. IT depends on the manufacturer as to the definition as the TPS can be on the air inlet before the manifold and on others it is at the base of the pedal. Because of the cost I suggest speaking with a dealer service centre to find out where it is and if you can save money by getting a unit from a wrecker that handles you make of vehicle then that is the way to go. Low mileage wrecks will have good units .
The error code 0170 and 0173 are related to Mass Air Flow
(MAF) sensor. Check for any vacuum leaks and repair them if found. Else
changing the MAF sensor may resolve the issue.
Hello. All of the warning lights are activated by a sensor. In this case since the engine oil level checks out fine the cause of the engine oil warning light is a bad sensor. You should be under full warranty. Have the dealership change the sensor. Joe
IT MEANS THAT YOUR OIL LEVEL IS VERY LOW AND NEEDS TO BE FILLED. CHECK THE OIL LEVEL WITH THE DIPSTICK IF EQUIPPED. IF NOT, THEN ADD 1 OR 2 QUARTS OF OIL TO SEE IF THE OIL LIGHT GOES OFF. IT MAY TAKE SYNTHETIC OIL SO DON'T PUT CONVENTIONAL OIL IN IT IF YOU SEE A MOBIL 1 SYNTHETIC OIL RECOMMENDATION STICKER UNDER THE HOOD. IF YOU ARE UNSURE THEN BRING IT TO A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN A.S.A.P.. HOPE THIS HELPS. GOOD LUCK.
