I have a isuzu big horn 3.0 1999 auto every now and then when i put it in to reverse i put my foot on the exelerater put all that happens is it sits there ticking over . this also happens when in drive sitting at traffic lights.Someone looked and said it was the autonater putting out to much power but that never solved it .Then someone said it was a fuel leek but the problem is still there. Its getting to be dangerous if i pull out unless i leave at least 1k. hope you can help.
Not going anywhere when in gear indicates a problem in the torque converter clutch area ( automatic transmission) or clutch hydraulic or cable system
If hydraulic would be in the master cylinder -replace it or cable breaking cable jamming in the outer case --replace it
for automatic it indicates that the servo/solenoid for the torque converter clutch has a problem
run the fault codes

My Torque on demand and 4 hi/low flashed for a couple days then stopped on it's own. There is a sensor somewhere under the truck that gets dirty from I was told.

If it was mine I would get as much of the old fuel out of the tank as I could.(syphon or look at tank for a drain plug)Change the fuel filter.Fill it with fresh fuel.Add a bottle of (Red color) STP fuel treatment. This will help remove condensation form the tank. Also check the condition of the air filter and install a fresh set of spark plugs, properly gaped.
The octaine in you old gas gets weak. Its not good to let it sit for so long.
I hope this helps you.
