My 2003 Ford Taurus will not start up. The Theft light will blink quickly and there is also a clicking sound coming from under the steerging column. After I jump the car, immediately after turning the car off, it is the same thing that happens and I cannot turned the car over. Is the Security Theft system causing this by having a loose wire or does something need to be replaced or can something be removed for the Security Theft system? Or can it be something else causing this? Thanks

Its the ecu and it needs to be replaced cause its arming the system when you shut it off and lock it. By eliminating this their is a switch under the dash that you turn off and on three times with the key on.

When this happens, usually the security system needs to be reprogrammed. Ford is known for these issues.

Try pulling the fuse for the anti theft system and starting. If the car starts normally, then the problem is with the theft system. The theft system will reset itself after a period of time.

My taurus wont start or even turn over battery connections all ok. my theft light is blinking faster than normal could this be a reason for not starting? if so what do i do or try? im frustrated......

yes the fast blinking theft light indicates that theft mode is activated. you wont be able to start the vehicle until you have the keys reprogrammed at your local ford dealer.

2001 ford taurus wont start and anti-theft light is blinking

Either you may be using a key that you had copied from the original or your chip went bad in your original key. Most of cars now a days have the key censor in the key so if it is the incorrect key it will not start your car or if it does not read that chip it will not start

Car engine wont turn over

it sounds like either the key is going bad (chip inside) or the PAT's immobilizer system is not detecting a key is inserted with the correct code. If you remove the column surround you will see connectors just make sure all of these are secure, watch the yellow one do not disconnect it as its the airbag and theres a chance of it deploying.
Also try your spare ignition key if you have one.

If all is ok i'm afraid you may need to make a trip to ford for them to diagnose, the pat's system works well almost too well sometimes. i deal alot with them while installing remote starts and when they go wrong its almost always the dealer to resolve it. They have the computer software to test the system.
Sorry,

On start flashing theft light on 02 windstar

I just had this same thing happen with my Ford Taurus, and it turned out to be a bad key. The repair shop switched back and forth between two different keys we had with us 10 or 12 times, and it always started with the good key, never with the "bad" key. They said if the theft light is flashing quickly, that means the anti-theft system is engaging. If the anti-theft light just lights up, that is normal.
