MOST TIME CAR STUMBLE OR HESITATION ON ACCELERATION YOU.HAVE A SLIGHT LEAN FUEL MIXTURE.CAUSED BY STOPPED UP FUEL INJECTORS OR FUEL FILTER SLIGHTLY PLUGGED.
down the dipstick tube!!!(really)DO NOT OVERFILL...
Your audi is fitted with a fuzzy logic gearbox, it will change according to your driving style.TRY THIS,put into 1st and without touching gas pedal, let the car accelerate to top gear, stop Then using onle 1/3rd gas pedal do it again.then using 2/3rds do it again.then only using the minimum pedal req accelerate to max legal limit.(try not to use brake pedal, let the car slow down itself, until you have to)then drive as normal, it will feel like a different car.
Is this a stick or automatic?
If its a stick it could be a defective clutch pedal bushing .
Automatic, torque converter clutch solenoid engagement shrudder.
to be honest i would need to drive it to know for sure but it could be anything from the clutch ,loose flywheel bolts to a drive shaft or evan a deformed tyre,Sorry i couldnt give you an instant fix and i sound like a solicitior because they always beat around the bush
My 99 Audi A4 2.8 Quattro was havinga problem starting at times. It would idle poor upon start and then it would come up in rpm where it should be. I had hesitation from a start and after coasting for more than 5-8 seconds, the car would shake violently upon acceleration at about 1/3 throttle. I cleaned the Mass Air Flow Sensor. This helped but did not solve all my problems. I then replaced the Mass Air Flor Sensor. Little to no change there ($108.00). Lastly, I replaced the spark plugs. I bought Bosch plugs ($4.82 ea.). This got rid of all the symptoms. I had bad lugs and possibily a dirty MAF!
This i think is a problem with the air getting into your engine.. If you look under the bonnet.. there is a tibe of tube or pipe. It pumps air into the engine for the petrol to ignite.. Its easy to locate.. There is likely a split or hole in it where air escapes.. You can glue it together or tape it up but this fix is only temporary as the split will get larger. its ok in 3rd because the air is being fired in at a much higher rate. But you would be loosing around 10 to 15 horsepower. Check the pipe anyway.
