1992 Ranger, 3.0L, V6, manual trans. When I turn on the headlights switch I only get parking lights. I can hold my high beam flash-to-pass switch but if I just turn on the high beams I get nothing. I have no power coming from the switch to the headlights but my Haynes manual doesn't have a wiring diagram for my truck so I can't isolate the fault location without it taking all day.
After reading your post, I am pretty sure the headlight switch is at fault. What happens when you turn the headlight switch to on and then actuate the high beam switch? If both low and high elements light up, I think that would be the headlight switch itself as the culprit. I don't have access to the wiring diagram you need, as that would answer your question end the guesswork on my part.
