SOURCE: coolant level low light comes on and coolant level

Your problem is either a bad sensor or it could possible be low in the reservoir. Check the coolant sensor first. it is located on the radiator just below the radiator cap.

Make sure the leak is not coming from the hose connected to it. If it appears to be ok, then replace the pump itself--they usually develop leaks through the worn shaft seal. If the coolant has not been flushed in some time, it loses it's lubricating qualities which leads to seal/bearing failure. Hope this helps!

Why is my buick century coolant light always on

You may want to check your manual. There is usually a light to tell you the coolant level in your reserve or overflow tank is low, and there is another light to tell you the system is overheating due to not enough coolant in the entire system. Nonetheless if either light remains on and you have refilled the overflow/reserve tank it is time to look for a leak. Leaks can be at hoses, in gaskets, and other locations. A puddle on the floor where the car is usually parked can help you locate a cracked hose or loose clamp, an antifreeze smell in your exhaust can help you locate a much worse problem.Often you may detect an antifreeze smell only after the car is warmed up which can be a leak which is running onto an exhaust pipe.

Coolant light keeps coming on

It could be low on coolant,or air in the cooling system,or the coolant low sensor needs cleaning.

I have a 2001 chevy Malibu. Have problems with

Due to the complexity of the newer cars on the raod today!! what you are experiencing is Normal!!! since the coolant systems on the newer cars run at such a higher pressure and a high Rpm the reserve tank which has it's on drain hose for excessive overflow from the radiator allows the extra high pressure release from the radiator to back flow to the reserve tank and then out the reserve tank overflow hose on to the raod

Replaced water pump, alternator, radiator, crank sensor and no coolant leaks and car has antifreeze, but why is low coolant dashboard indicator light keep flashing on 97 saturn sl2

Inside the coolant reserve tank there is a sensor for coolant level.

Over time, this sensor can get stick.

Inspect the coolant reserve tank for crack or leak.

Locate the coolant level switch/sensor and soak it in clean warm water.

Make sure it's free to move up and down the float path.

Top off the coolant tank with coolant only.
