Hi there:

DTC P1400 - Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic (DPFE) sensor signal was below 0.2 volts. Enabling conditions: Run engine off or running self tests to check this code.

Blocking Action: This code can block the following monitors: Fuel Control, O2 monitor, catalyst, misfire, and EGR monitor.

Testing: Run the engine off and running self tests. If the code does not show up, it is an intermittent problem. Check for 5 volt reference that is low, damaged sensor or a short to ground in the signal wiring. Probes use an EGR position sensor signal which can be low because of a worn EGR pintle that drops too low in the EGR valve or for a warped EGR valve base.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

P1400 DPF EGR Sensor
Circuit Low Voltage Detected

I understand what the valve does, but
don't know exactly where to have you look
for it, or if it really failed without testing it

If you want to chance just replacing it, like
everyone seems to do,follow the vacuum
hoses away from the EGR Valve, and you should
find a small sensor in the vauum hoses with
a wire connector on it.

Either code 4000 or 1400 on 2002 ford ranger 4.0 ltr v6. the right code should equate to the egr valve. I have replaced the egr valve but check engine light comes on again after reset showing same code.

code p1400 is a DPF EGR sensor CIRCUIT LOW VOLTAGE detected. most likely is a problem with the wiring to the egr or dpfe sensor. the pinpoint tests for code p1400 instruct you to test all wiring before replaceing the egr or dpfe sensor

Replace DPFE sensor, reset engine fault codes. The Ford one is a good one and rockauto.com carries Airtex. Sometimes I hear that this change always need replace EGR valve to delet all codes. Test it.

Good luck.

Maybe you got a bad DPFE sensor, or the pintel inside the egr valve is not opening all the way causing the insufficient flow.

DPFE EGR Circuit Low Input". for a P1400 code . The sensor is located on the pass. side of the eng comp. back near the firewall. It sits on top of two small rubber hoses that attach to metal tubes. These tubes lead down to the EGR tube. . Good luck

Engine light on 2002 Explorer. engine code P1400

This may have to do with a bad wiring. Check all the wiring associated with EGR operation. Whenever a computer throws a code about high or low circuit voltage, it is usually attributed to abnormal wiring.
