Need to find the thermostat on a 2004 lincoln aviator

I have an 03 and around 30,000 miles the same thing happened to me . I took it to the dealer and the replaces the idler pully wich is what was making the noise .hope this helps you

I just changed the fuel filter on my 2003 Aviator and it was a pain. Aftwer looking and looking I finally found it. It is located under the truck at the center of the front crossmember behind a shield. Two bolts hold the shield and there are two quick release hoses on the fuel filter itsself. Good luck!!!

It means something is wrong with it. Start with fluid level check, idling , warm fluid, in park....

There are 2 possible diagrams depending on if you have a 4.6L SOHC or a 4.6L DOHC. This information should be on the plate under the hood. Best of luck!

SOURCE: shifter knob broke and pulled up on 2004 Lincoln Aviator

This is a reoccuring problem with the Lincoln and no they have not issued a recall - its at least a $500.00 problem and to temp. fix take needle nose pliers and pull center rod up in center of shifter and then tighten the small screw on side of shifter down onto the rod - one drawback u wont be able to release the key out of the steering column
