{: ) It will be helpful if you can elaborate more on this concern and also note down any other symptoms that you may notice. It's because there are many GM bulletins that may apply to your problem.
Anyway we can just round off some possible causes and fixes for the moment.
If only the DIC screens on your cluster are going dim or blank despite adjustments on the backlighting knob near the main headlamp switch, the problem is internal to the cluster, and it can be fixed by an electronic service center. The other option is to have it replaced and programmed.
If the DIC buttons doesn't seem to work, remove the DIC connector and check the black wire for a good ground connection. You may also try removing the IPC fuse at the underhood fuseblock for 20sec while the igntion is off. Then reinstall the fuse and turn ignition on, and recheck button functions.
Another option is to diagnose the DIC inputs and cluster operation using a GM scan tool. It can monitor better the signals from your DIC. The scan tool may also reveal some codes that can be relevant to solving the problem, like a wiring or a component issue.
There's a bad connection, follow the first answer
All the info on the cluster and dash are working. The only thing not working is the "reset" (check mark) button. I can't reset average mpg, trip... My question is How do I remove the Dic switches from the dash to look at the connections. Don't want to break anything or tear up frontal fascia or dash.

{: ) If you are referring to the IPC message screens going blank, and the gages and warning indicators seem to be working normally, the problem is not the fuse but an IPC internal circuit fault.. So better be ready for a new one. A replacement IPC will be that of later model versions. It will be programmed to your vehicle, and the mileage record will be reset to zero.
