well so far 2 mechanics & a trip to the dealership and no one knows , but weather or not this has anything to do with it , my wife says i wiggled the wires under the seat and it started , im thiinkin Ok heres your sign , so while waiting for tow truck i decide to check them for myself and it starts and been running since ,well there are many wires in the driver/passenger compartment but i now truly believe the problem lies in the interior of the car possibly the wires running from to front under the rug beneath that drivers seat , so im waiting to have it happen again but cant seem to recreate it niether could the dealership so i can test my therory good luck if you find the answer let me know

Im not a hundred percent sure but on the drivers side right next to the seat under the carpet there is a ground buss that has like 7 or 8 wires that go into it and sometimes that gets corroded replace it or attempt to clean the connections this should work

Took it to my mechanic and it was the ground that is behind the emergency brake pedal this ground controls the power seats, windows and fuel pump he rewired with a new ground and no problems this guy worked as a service manger with gmc for 27 years and he know what he is doing.

I have an intermittant problem where the car stalls out while driving and the power windows stop working

Check the wire connection at the starter and make certain they are tight as the power supply to engine and accessories is picked up there at the solenoid. Check the engine ground strap as well.

98 Pontiac Bonneville intermitanly stalls & won't restart

It could be many things.
When the engine crank but won't start
Retrieve PCM faulty code if any.
Engine need 3 things (Fuel, Air, Fire (spark)
1- Fuel = fuel pump working during the problem you can hear a sound at the fuel tank cap (remove)
All Fuel Injectors working.(Power and the spray).
2- Air = MAF defect (Mass Air Flow) no code will be set
When the engine is running with a screwdriver lightly hit the MAF the engine will stall if it's the problem.
air filter restrictions
3- Fire= Is there spark at all spark plugs wire?

Find out the ground of power windows it could be the same as fuel pump or ignition system (Ground corrosion, high resistor)
and many more.
See good technicians to fix your car..

Hope it helps

My Bonneville will quit running while going down the road suddenly. The engine will loose power first and then quit. If I stop and then turn the key off and then try to start the car will restart and run...

This is most likely due to a failing antitheft system. Next time this happens, look for a light in the dash somewhere that says "security" or might be a picture of a car with a lock thru it. If you see this light, go to this link for help. http://vatspasslockpasskeysecurityhelp.yolasite.com/

Pontiac bonneville/electrical problem

After checking fuses your only sure hope is replacing the BCM module in the passenger compartment. (Body Control Module) . It runs all the electrical systems...basicly its the engine computers counterpart. Unfortunately mine cost 500 bucks, but it restored all the funky systems that were not functioning. ...cski
