You have whats called an OBD2 system in your vehicle. It's not like the old days where you count the number of times it flashes to get a code. You can take your vehicle to most any auto parts store and the will check the codes for you and tell you what codes you are having. In most cases when your check engine light is flashing in a sytem as yours you are most likely looking at a misfire and the codes will be in the 0300's like a P0300 or P0302 and the such if it is a misfire. Some of the codes will say a random misfire while others will tell you which cylinder has the misfire. Now I'm not sure a misfire is the case and you will know what codes you have when they do pull them which will lead you in the right direction as to the problem I just mention a misfire because it is flashing and that code is common with a flashing MIL (check engine light). I hope this helps and good luck.
