I have a 97 gmc jimmy 4wd. I repalce the fuel pump, drove for a couple of days, then it wouldn't start. Will replacing the fuel pump relay make it start. Do anyone know which relay is the fuel pump relay. It is not on the relay. What are the other two relays.

Should be a green-yellow wire from the relay to the pump. The pump is grounded thru a black wire in the harness. The wire from the relay should be hot when the relay is engaged by the computer or if you jumper it.
Can you jumper the fuel pump and make it start and continue to run ? Have you checked to see if you are getting spark when it won't start ? Could be a relay or coil, ignition module, or other component.
There are two basic reasons for not starting - no spark or no fuel, both of which are controlled by the ECM. You need to check error codes and these items - for the spark, test it at the cylinder 1 sparkplug; for the fuel check the pressure (if too high or low, problem!).
This happened to me I had to spray Starting fluid everytime eventually. Starting fluid wouldn't work after awhile. Its the fuel pump. Even though it comes on and works its not producing enough fuel pressure to start the engine. It's probably giving about 12-13lbs of pressure but it needs atleast 14lbs. of pressure. And a word of advice to buy a ACDelco original fuel pump if you don't want to have to replace it again in 1-2 years, it's more expensive but will last.
yea you have no fuel and sound like a bad harness and the gm's are know for there fuel pump harness's! did you change it when you changed the pump? there is a lose connection somewhere in the fuel delivery system and it's pretty simply! i would check the fuel pump relay on the left hand side of the engine compartment and maybe even put power to the pump at the relay position "b" on the fuel pump relay harness and there should be a one pin connector to put power to also connected to the same position on the relay "b" the wire should be tan and white! good luck
Yeah, The fuel pump can go bad . The normal warranty on the pump is 12 months or 12,000 miles. This is very rare . I would check if the fuel pump had a lifetime warranty.
I would also check the ignition switch, and all the fuses to make sure the fuel pump is the failure.
