2000 chevy blazer -starts great-idles great when after start in idle-misses when accelorating until shift-then misses occasionally until it warms up-then runs perfrct at any rpm-continues to run perfect the rest of the day after stopped and started-back to the same problem the next morning.

Check see if one of the coil packs have a crack in it. if so replace it if you start the car in the dark with hood poped the crack will show right now looks like a light show

I Have a couple of questions. First question does engine surge when idleing cold? 2. Does engine start quickly without a lot of cranking, Cold or warm? 3. Do you have funny smell at highway speed, or after you stop? With out this info and your imput, I would only be guessing. I am retired mechanic of 25 years. and would like to help if u need me.

My car will not idle properly until after it is warmed up.(1995 Olds. Cutlass Supreme 3.4)
It wants to idle up and down between 1000 and and 2000 and will stall out if I don't keep it revved up at 2000 until it warms up.

sounds real easy either a bad idle air control solenoid or more likley a blown throttle body gasket. to test fro a blown gasket, with engine running and cool spray carb cleaner or brake cleaner around base of tb were it bolts to intake. when it hits the bad area, should idle down and be normal for a second or 2. iac is possible,try this first since its so common and let me know
no fan comes on when engine cold start up .but it will come on when you turn on air conditioning or defrost on .if engine idling a while when temp get 190 degree the fan will kick on.if over heating you got air in system .wait until cools check coolant add more .crank engine let it idle few. minutes when start warming up turn off engine wait a while before removing radiator cap so you wont get scald.add more coolant .crank it again starting warming up turn off engine wait a while .add coolant .keep doing this procedure until your coolant stop dropping off .if you do this more than 6 times you got a leak some where.check crank level for signs.if oil level higher than normal.if everything looking good.when engine cool make sure add coolant to over flow jug cold level mark.
