1999 chevrolet 1 ton van computer programing problem. My old computer module had a small crack which allowed water in, and the new one from the junkyard seems ok, and I replaced the plug under the metal cover plate that is specific to my van, but although it starts and runs ok, the transmission shifts incorrectly.

It may need to be reprogrammed. any good repair shop or dealer can do that. computers are too specific to just put one in form a junkyard and think its going to work correctly.

I have a Chevrolet 1999 Astro van RWD 4.3L , check engine light turn on with blinking at the same time.Code P0302 pop-up, I have given a complete Tune-up,change belt, tensioner and still check light st

TAKE IT TO NOONE ELSE BUT A CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND HAVE THEM RUN A DIAG GIVE YOU AN ESTIMATE. I LOVE THOSE OLD CHEVY ASTRO VANS I HAVE HAD 3 OF THEM. SIMETIMES IT IS CHEAPER TO JUST REPLACE THE OLD VANS RATHER THEN SPEND MONEY ON THEM. THE LAST VAN I HAD I HAD PUT OVER 700,000 MILES ON IT BEFORE I GOT RID OF IT.

I have a 1999 GMC Safari van that overheated last week.Rad was dry.I have refilled with antifreeze water mixture, van runs and has heat , no leaks under vehicle, no antifreeze smell. Van is running rough...

yes a beginner can just follow the top rad. hose to the block use a 10mm socket to take the 2 bolts out. scrape the old gasket away put new gasket and high temp silcone on gasket and install new thermostat.

doesnt sound like the problem to me, check the oil make sure no water is in it, sounds like the head is cracked on the exhaust side and ur water is going out your tailpipe, so in turn would ruin your cat converter and make the truck run raggy

1999 Dodge Ram Van doesn't start,3500- 1 ton, 5.9- v-8 it's got 158,500 miles, 1) doesn't start 2) No spark (Condition: Good fuel pressure)

I'm not familiar with dodge but I know Ford's and GM's have ignition modules that go out and you lose spark.

1999 Chevy Venture Problems

you have 4 water lines, they are 2 radiator hoses (top and bottom) the bottom one runs from the lower part of the radiator to the water pump, the top radiator hose runs from the upper part of the radiator to the thermostat housing

2 heater hoses, they go from the water pump to the firewall.

if you know which one has a hole then you should take the van to a parts store (if you can safely drive it that far) and show them, they can get the right one for you... and sometimes you can talk someone into putting it on for you.

as for the fluctuating gauges you probably need new sending units for the temp gauge and fuel gauge

1999 Chevy Astro Van. Don't know exact model # of

You should have a 4l60E in your astro van. Which is electrically controlled, so no vacuum modulator. However, to address the ventilation selector not working... look for a vacuum line exiting the firewall and going to the passenger rear of the intake manifold. You will likely find it broken or disconnected there.

Alternator not charging

Check for voltage with a multi meter or volt guage most of the GM trigger wires come from the computer and are only 5 volts. 5 volts is not enough to light some test lights. If still nothing the problem is probably the computer. But it can be manually excited. The two terminals in the alternator on the left of the pigtail (when looking from the front of the van) need + power. the far left is the trigger wire the one next to it is ignition power.
