Question edited for full 'year make model'. Question moved the correct category. It really depends where it is coming from. This is a 1200cc, 4 cylinder car engine in a bike frame. If it is coming from the bottom it is bad news as that is where the crankshaft bearings and connecting rods are. If it disappears when it warms up, all well and good, but not perfect and it will only get worse.. It is more likely coming from the top of the engine because that area pretty much fully drains of oil after turning off, and it is the last to get oil when you start up. Make sure your oil is clean and use full synthetic oil if possible. I would also add some STP Oil Treatment or MolySlip. This is made to lubricate better and stick to surfaces. You can fashion a stethoscope to pinpoint the sound by sticking a piece of 1/4" polythene pipe in you ear and listen to top and bottom end. https://www.google.com/search?q=1984+1200+aspencade%2C+knocking+on+start+up ..

Probly a bulb or fuse or bad connect...its 30yr. Buy a clymer shopbook for that model

just start the bike up and shut the petcock off and let it run till it dies carbs will be clean no gas

you have a damaged seal replace it and you should be just fine

Something is shorting to earth, and wires rubbing on the frame or another item is usually the cause. This is the wiring diagram for the earlier model and only shows two relays for flasher and starter. mix is too weak, not sure if you have a carb or electronic ignition so if carb, probably needs a clean and new filters, if electronic get it checked

Ugut to go ivr whole bike oiling or wd40. Also turning rusted or froze nuts. Get apropane torch too for loosening. Project junk bikes taketime but theyr classic. Ihave an 81 yama250..bin workn on it almost20yr. New stuf isjunk. Buy a clymer shop manual for that model...its for rebuild

Axle nut is 27mm and the other side is hex head 24mm, this was on a 2002 - it should be the same from 2000 to 2007.

you will most likely have to buy and have programmed 2 keys from a dealer

Your best bet is to Google motorcycle salvage honda and see what you can find.

This is a wild guess. You need a new or rebuilt starter motor. The shaft for the starter motor gear broke and the starter gear is not turning over your engine.
