Hi, Itzik timeline for checking the engine oil. Your owners manual says every time you go for a ride. I personally do not follow this recommendation. Do you check your engine oil in your car each and every time you drive? I have been in the motorcycle business over 50 years and I personally check my engine oil level on my bike every 3 months. If you don't ride that much and are not leaking engine oil or burning it ie: exhaust smoke then every 3 months is acceptable. If you ride every day then I recommend the first day of every new month.

Hi, Bevie before testing any electrical component in the Starting Circuit it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead-acid batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Engine Run Switch is "FAULTY" or corroded.
4. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
5. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
6. FOB battery low or dead.
7. Faulty ignition switch.
8. Faulty starter button.
9. Faulty kickstand, clutch, neutral safety switch.
10. Security alarm needs a reset.
11. Starter relay, solenoid, starter motor or circuit wiring faulty.
12. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
13. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
14. Faulty ignition relay.
15. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
16. Check for engine trouble codes.

The carburetor is gummed up a bit from petrol evaporating over the past year. Remove the carb and then the float bowl on the bottom of the carb and then clean the carb with spray carb cleaner. Pay extra attention to the float needle area. A generic diagram is below. Please rate my answer. Thanks. tombones49_56.gif

The battery may be drained. This is both true for kick start and those with a starter motor. See if you can jump start the bike when you push it and put it in gear. If it starts it is a battery issue.

You can buy a thread tap at most any good auto parts store or hardware / tool store. The tap will re-thread the existing threads. Bear in mind that if the hole has been stripped out really bad, the integrity of the re-thread is questionable. Having a local machine shop do the re-tap is advised. Alternate to that is just buying a new cylinder head. Please rate my answer. Thanks!

Wneh you fit new rings be sure to scour the cylinder bore with a rotary wire brush in the chuck of an electric drill, otherwise the rings won't seat correctly and it may burn oil and lose compression.
Treat as a new engine and run the rings in.

It should be the negative side of the battery or the frame.
Hope that helps

When you kick start a motorcycle or scooter, the motor turns over much faster than your electric starter can turn it over, even with a new battery.
I saw this before with several brands of scooters and the problem was solved by making sure you have clean battery terminals, and a fully charged good battery.
Some batteries will take a full charge but cant take a load. So your battery may seem good because it has 12+ volts, but when you try to start it it drops below 10-11 volts.
Most local auto parts stores can put a load test on your battery for free. If you purchase a new one, make sure it is the one called for for your scooter.

There are only three things that could do this:
1. Air intake restriction
2. Fuel restriction.
3. Throttle cable slippage.

Please check the filters, the throttle cables etc.

If you pull the seat bucket you will be able to trace your fuel and vacume line to the petcock. You can help the process by manualy applying suction at the vac line and a shot of starting fluid in the airbox inlet should get you going.

At 300 miles the only thing you might want to do is check the gearbox oil level and then lube and adjust the chain. Check with the dealer on the filter type. As to what type of oil, use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell. If in a hot area like Texas or New Mexico go with 20w50.
