After resetting my tripometer after
Well, thats one for the books I believe.Without having the bike in front of me, I would suggest first finding out where the problem is NOT. Start with your ignition. Pull off a spark plug boot with a pair of insulated pliers.Hold the boot close to the plug and try to start the bike.See if you are getting any spark. If yes, then your problem is fuel, but that doesnt add up to what caused your original issue with the tripmeter. So I am betting you will not have any spark to your plugs. In which case, you have either a short between the handlebars and the coils which is causing them not to get the power they need to fire the plugs, or depending on the ignition system you have, you may simply have a shorted ECM.Again, to test components like that you will need test equipment and a manual.if your going to do it yourself, be patient and dont give up.Or you could simply take it to a shop and pay them their fees to diagnose the circuit failure.Good luck and I hope it is something simple that you can fix yourself.
I dont know how to
There should be a handle or lever under the seat on the right if you were sitting on the bike
Fuel pump comes on battery
the 1st thing u do is find out if the injectors have 12 volts at the connector to each injector with the key on, if not then check fuses, if yes you have a problem on the computer (knwon as the ECU) control side of the injector which is the ground side, run a continuity test of the ground side wire from the injector connector back to the computer/ECU, if you have power to the ECU and the injectors are good and the wiring is not open and the injectors have a 12 volt source key on then the ECU is defective.
My 2008 675 is down
yes using the wrong octane can cause problems like this, use the recommended 91 octane, these engines are designed from the ground up for a certain fuel octane, the engine management system is set up for 91 not 94, also the cylinder design is for 91, you are just throwing away good money on the higher grade and most likely causing this problem, had many people be very skeptical of this, but they have come back and told me I was correct about the octane issues...
Having driven through torrential rain.
yes it is possible. buy yourself a can of WD40 (penetrating oil)... spray all electrical parts and wiring you can see with that. it will repel the water but it does not conduct electricity. also buy a bottle of gas line antifreeze and put half of it in your fuel tank. it sucks up any water you may have in your fuel (petrol)
1997 triumph daytona 955i. Battery. Is not charging while im riding it. Why ??
There are several possible reasons why the battery on your 1997 Triumph Daytona 955i may not be charging while you are riding it:
- The battery may be faulty. If the battery is not holding a charge or is not functioning properly, it will not be able to charge while you are riding the motorcycle.
- The charging system may malfunction. The charging system is responsible for supplying power to the battery while the motorcycle is running. If the charging system is not functioning properly, the battery will not be able to charge.
- The voltage regulator may be malfunctioning. The voltage regulator is a component of the charging system that regulates the voltage supplied to the battery. If the voltage regulator is not functioning properly, the battery may not be able to charge.
- The battery cables or connections may be loose or damaged. If the battery cables or connections are loose or damaged, the battery will not be able to receive a charge.
To troubleshoot the problem, you should start by checking the battery to see if it is functioning properly. If the battery is not the issue, you will need to check the charging system and voltage regulator to see if they are functioning properly. If the problem persists, it is recommended that you have the motorcycle inspected by a qualified mechanic. They will be able to diagnose the problem and recommend the appropriate repairs.
