Hi,
You need to under go several other tests in your Bike's starter system. Did you check if the starter button, when pressed what happens? Do you hear any sound....click click? It could be that the starter might need an overhaul or it could also be the starter solenoid switch that is faulty. Have you tried to rotate the engine by shifting into 3rd gear and see if the engine if free and not sized! It would be better too to check the cranking ability of the battery via a bettery tester wherby it has volts indicator and a load button which would show you if it's ok in power.
Hope this answer helps.

Sounds like it may be sucking air from one place or another. You may have a small hole in a fuel hose, problem with fuel filter, or just a weak connector where the tube makes a connection. Something a little more major would be a gasket under the carburetor needing replacement. Check the tubes first. A fault with gasoline that contains ethanol is that they bring on deterioration of fuel lines. This is the easiest fix.

It could be any of a dozen problems, but it sounds like that year old fuel pump. It could be a loose wire killing the pump or even vapor lock. I would start with testing the pump under pressure.

It takes the alternating current from the Alternator (generator) and turns it into 12 volts DC (direct current - no waveform) to charge your battery.

Hi, Jeremy parts swapping is common with most motorcycles when it comes to interchangeable or compatible parts from one model with another "EXCEPT" for the CDI's they are year-make-model "SPECIFIC" the best thing to do is call your local Dealership Parts Department or a reputable independent shop. If your location is not near a shop then go online and find a parts catalogue or "FICHE" and match part numbers depending on your criteria.

The first thing to check is the battery, read the voltage with a multimeter, a battery in good condition and fully charged should read as 12.6 volts + anything less than 12 volts and the battery is u/s

Hi, David for this scenario you will need your service manual that has all fastener torque specs and a wiring diagram on the back pages, parts fiche, and owners manual if you can not find the best tool you ever bought for your Yamaha, despair not, for a mere zero $0 you can download another one.
