Engine oil turns black just a few miles after changing
Is ok for an oil to change his colour after changing, but depends in how many miles.
There are a couple of causes for that.
Keep in mind that you can't drain totally the old oil from an engine and that way your new oil will receive some black colour from the old one.
Also, the oil is going to the cylinders where are extreme temperatures and residues.
Maybe you had a to used oil in the engine or a bad one and you have deposits inside and the new oil washed those and received some black colour from them.
Next time before adding some new oil use a motor flush to clean it, but be carrefully when chosing it.

Battery keeps going dead
Most likely cause is the battery. The other problem could be in the charging system.Start the bike and measure the voltage at the battery with the battery fully charged (charged the battery with a trickle charger like battery tender)Should read in the 14 v or higher range. If it doesn't the problem is probably the stator or voltage regulator.

Powers on but will not start
Ok not much to go on but is it in neutral? go check. I spent a day trouble shooting because I left it in gear. On a Triumph Sprint you need to pull the clutch in also.

My 2003 sprint rs doesn't hold revs when starting,
Your Sprint has no choke as its injected and fuel is controlled by the ECM. So this said there are a few possible things to check.1 TPS throttle position sensor voltage.2 Barametric pressure sensor (MAP)3 Do you use fuel containing ethanol, injected bikes hate the stuff, makes them hard to start. Number 3 is an easy thing to try, 1 and 2 you will need to look at the ECM with a computer. Its very easy and the cable to connect to your laptop is about $14. OBD2 to USB cable.

My 1997 900 Triumph sport sprint started to run on
Sounds like something has clogged one of the pilot jets in the carburators. You can figure out which one by feeling which pipe is cold after running for a short time. Probably best to clean all 3 carbs while you have them off.

Get in black box relay
possibly a loose connection, or bad ignition component. sometimes they are hard to diagnose without actually listening to the problem.popping at high RPM would indicate a valve spring problem, or lean mixture. popping at low RPM could be a lean problem also.
