Hello Alvin! Had to do some research on your machine and hoped there is a "Users Group" where you could go for help. No joy. You are stuck with me...?? If your scooter has spent a lot of time outdoors, I'd be suspicious of corrosion in the electrical connections. I own an Italian machine myself ('87 Alfa) and ground connections have been troublesome. Start with you battery connections, making sure they are clean and sound. In fact, remove both and check carefully inside the cable sheaths, where the wires can be damaged. Clean the terminals well before putting the cables back on. Then start looking closely on the frame for ground attachments. Disconnect any you find and clean the frame attachment point and the wire connector. A light sanding should clean things up. If things are still not right, start pulling each connector you can find and inspect for corrosion. Be careful, since old plastic can snap, so try to figure out how they come apart before overpowering them. Usually a "release" pin of some sort. You have no doubt noticed by now I'm giving very general advice, since I've obviously never seen your Gilera. Frankly, many electrical gremlins in older machines are caused by corrosion and I suspect you may find this is your problem. All the best.

Hi . i have problem with my gilera gp experience 2004 50 cc is accelerating but no grip sometimes and when i go up hill i loose power up to 5 mph or less it was running fine but now sometimes i hear n

Grip...? I'm imagining the most beastly of 50cc's doing smoky burnouts while going up a hill.... Naw that's not right. If the back tire won't spin freely I'd check the brake tension or wheel bearing. On a 50cc the power is so low anyway that this may be the only problem you have.

Dna 50 not accelerating

this sounds to me like the variator (speed controller) needs either new rollers or it could quite simply be your drive belt has stretched and needs replacing....if you need to know how to do this let me know.

My Gilera DNA 125 ( 2001) has been standing for

first drain the fuel,, your probably going to have to get the carbs cleaned too,, gas turns to varnish like substance after about a year ,, yes a new battery should be purchased,, look for any cracked or weak lines both vacuum and fuel, replace the fuel filter, once you do get it running,, check far any gaskets that may be leaking, other than that you should have it as far as starters

Gilera DNA 50cc the engine

you need to burn out all the carbon in the exhaust.it will be causing a restiction and making it hard for the engine to run properly.I would use a gas torch to do this but be real careful..

I have a 2005 gilera dna 50cc. It starts fine but after a while cuts out and won't start again. I was told that they don't like the wet ,could this be the case

more likely a fuel hose problem.. could be a clogged filter, a pinched hose even a dirty carburetor .. it's not a tight clog it just slows the fuel enough to starve the engine then over time it drips enough fuel into the carb to allow start and run for a short while before clogging again

Hi I have stripped mi Gilera 125 sc down apart from engine and carb. Just panels and petrol tank. Why they have been painted. Now it has a good spark fuel but will not start just seems plug is flooded all the time but the spark is perfect

It sounds as though the mixture is way too rich. Is the choke stuck on or malfunctioning? With is dry spark plug but fuel in the carburetor, try turning the fuel valve and choke off and then with ignition on and holding the throttle at least 1/2 open, kick the engine over several times. If it starts under these conditions then perhaps the float(s) in the float bowel have leaked and are full of gasoline causing the fuel to flow continuously into the throat of the carb then into the engine. It probably is some sort of carb mixture setting, choke or needle valve/float problem.
